Happy Friday!! New York Fashion Week is officially over and I am ready for some necessary R&R. What I saw during fashion week was a wonderful foreshadowing of what is to come next spring. It’s hard to think of warm weather clothing when the temps are starting to drop, but that is fashsun for ya. Although I typically get exited for my favorite brands to present their collection (Carolina Herrera, Lela Rose, Kate Spade, etc.), there are two brands that really left an impression on me: Brock Collection and Ulla Johnson. Both I have heard of before, but their runway show was so feminine and beautiful. Will be keeping an eye on them from now on!

Fashion week is always so much fun but it can be exhausting. I have been running around in heels since last Wednesday. Today is the first day I haven’t had either a show or an event. I am tired my friends. Last night I went to the Beauty Counter event in Tribeca. Beauty Counter is a chemical-free, safe beauty and skincare product line. I use a few of their stuff (mostly this and this) and love it. You should honestly research what is put into our  beauty products, it is scary. Anyway, I was invited through a consultant friend of mine. During the event I played around with different products that I have been curious about. Unfortunately I did not take anything home with me.  Then the CEO of the company, Gregg Renfrew, spoke about why she started BC and her fight for congress to start banding chemicals in our products. Definitely give Beauty Counter a look!

Another edition of “sh*t that only happens to me” series. Remember in the beginning of August when I complained about being brutally victimized by mosquitos? I have counted almost 50 spots. Well I woke up Tuesday morning completely covered in bites all over my legs and arms. Some were bigger than a quarter and some were small, but they all itched. After talking to my mom she mentioned that it sounds like hives. I showed my roommate and she said the same thing. I decided to go to Urgent Care because the red spots looked exactly like what I had earlier in August and I wanted know why my blood was so tasty to these insects. I have never had hives before so it did not cross my mind that this was it all along, especially since it is not a rash just spots. Well guess what? I have hives– I have had hives for a month. Since I did not treat it properly (I thought they were mosquito bites), they truly never went away. They came back because last week I had anxiety (remember this post) and over the weekend I ate gluten from a yummy hor d’oeuvre. I knew I was eating gluten, but after my week diet of vegetables, fries, and champagne, because who has time to eat during fashion week, I became hangry (a little tipsy) and said “what the heck!”. That what the heck gave me hives. Urgent Care proscribed a few antibiotics that seem to work, and also anxiety medication. Now I am trying to relax as much as possible so I do not get another flare up. I am even going to MNDFL today to relax a little bit more because you know what stresses me out? HAVING HIVES THAT ITCH!

I will be doing nothing this weekend except cleaning my apartment, working out, binge-watching tv, and hopefully getting rid of these hives. Oh, I also have a station that plays NYFW runways cause I can’t get enough of it!

Have a wonderful, hive-free, weekend! XO
