“I believe in the good things coming”

Happy Friday!! I am ready for one cozy weekend! I was suppose to be heading upstate tomorrow for a short escape out of New York to see some fall foliage but the person I was going to go with unfortunately is now sick. My entire weekend plans fell through and I have nothing to do. On the bright side I can now stay cozy and warm and binge watch Stranger Things 2 all weekend.

I know it is Halloween weekend and everyone will be out and about with their costume on. To be honest I am not the biggest fan of Halloween. Sure I like candy, haunted houses, and Hocus Pocus, but I am not the biggest fan of dressing up. I will do it if there is a party, like last year I attended the Athletic Club of Columbus Halloween party.  I dressed up like a flapper and had a blast. with friends. But to dress up just to go to a bar, no thanks. I was invited to a party Saturday night, and now that my escape out of NYC fell through I may attend. Still on the fence about it. I do not have a costume but I do have cat ears that I bought years ago, so I will most likely be a cat. I’m a cat, duh. I did go to the Halloween store yesterday to look at costumes– I was deciding between Harry Potter or Star Wars. Ended up not getting anything. Sometimes I like to get crafty and make my own costume; one year I went as a Tiffany’s box– fun to make, not so much fun to move around a crowded bar in. Anyway, if I end up not going to the party I will just hang out with the Sanderson sisters.

Now that the holiday season has officially begun I am one busy bee. I have been running from holiday showcase to showcase looking at what different brands will have to offer this coming season. This past week I went to a brunch with Venus de Fleur, as they are rolling out their new holiday box editions and floral colors. I also went to Nine West press preview to see the 40th Anniversary collection where they are re-releasing old styles. Such a great idea and honestly a lot of the styles are still popular right today. Some are more evident as to what decade they came from, for instance a few will have square toes which was trendy in the 90’s. It was nice to go down memory lane with the shoe styles and noting which ones I used to own. Nine West also had us write on their wall about our first NW experience. I can’t remember my first pair of NW shoes, but I wrote about the time when I was a Freshman in College. I majored in Dance and the department went to NYC to take dance classes.  Well I really wanted these pink heels from Nine West, and once I set my mind to having something I do not stop until I get it.  So one afternoon when we had a few hours to explore the city I ran around to every Nine West to find these pink shoes…….I found them!

Besides seeing holiday previews, on Wednesday night I attend the wrap party for Shape Magazine’s summer series called #shapesquad. The party was at The VNYL, which I have never been to but really enjoyed the atmosphere.  It was nice to catch up with a few other bloggers I haven’t’ seen in a while and to run into some of my favorite NYC fitness instructors.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend and one spooky Halloween!! xo
