“Then she smiles, like it’s the first time she’s seen the sun after a decade of winters”
Happy Friday!! This past week was amazing! I had the best time during NYFW seeing some of my favorite shows like Tibi and Claudia Li amongst the top. It does not matter to me whether I am at big designers show or at a show for an unknown brand name, I still feel incredibly grateful to be there. I try to take a few moments at each show to look around, breath, and thank God I am at freaking New York Fashion Week! I will talk more about NYFW in greater detail in a later post this week, but I truly had the best time!
Beside running around from show to show there were a few events that I attended. First was Tractenberg & Co.’s showroom filled with a ton of different skin care and make up brands to test out and talk to representatives of. Tractenberg is a public relations firm for beauty and fashion brands. I did not test out any of the beauty or skincare products for reasons I will explain later on. I was, however, able to get my hair done by John Frieda along with a monogrammed silk pillow case to take home, a hand massage from Korres, and a tarot card reading. I love getting my palm read, tarot card readings, going to psychics, read my daily horoscope, I find it fun and interesting. I will have to say throughout the years I have done all of the above what has been told to me 80% of it has come true. That is pretty impressive. I once had a psychic tell me I was going to move out of Ohio very soon to either Chicago or New York and a month later I got a job offer in New York. But I also had a psychic tell me I was going to get married in November (this was in September)….. 7 years ago…. and I was in an on and off whatever it was type of relationship. I laughed and said yeah I don’t think so. Of course that did not come true as I am not married or close to being married. Anyway, my tarot card reading ended up being really good. I am still beaming from the cards that I pulled. Months ago I went to a psychic and she and the tarot cards said the exact same thing…. soooo I am thinking it’s all going to come true!! The tarot card lady also said I had a great aura around me filled with love and positivity. I’ll take it! The event was fun and I am glad that I went!
The next event I went to was celebrating Galentine’s Day with Neely and Chloe at their office space in Soho. I couldn’t stay long as I had a show that night, but I stopped by to say hi to the girls since I have not seen them in a few months. They are currently in partnership with Tuckernuck, also Inslee by Design (who is one of the sweetest people I have ever met) and I could not be happier for them!! They have a beautiful affordable luxury line that you have to shop!
For Valentine’s Day morning I had breakfast with Alison Brod PR/Marketing agency x Bumble x Sugafina x Crowns by Christy at the Crosby Street Hotel. It was a nice morning filled with mimosas, candy, flowers, chit-chat and lots of hearts. That evening I attending Drew’s Valentine’s Day party at Dear Drew. Dear Drew is Drew Barrymore’s new fashion and lifestyle brand. There is a pop-up store on Crosby street and they are currently working on their website. Her stuff is so cute! I wanted everything!! The evening was filled with pizza, beer, shopping, and good friends. What more could I ask for! Drew Barrymore was there and I had the chance to meet her– truly one of the sweetest people!! We bonded over how we both see hearts everywhere and document them! Then she gave me a hug and said we are kindred spirits! The entire day was amazing!
This weekend I have NO plans except to watch the Olympics. I do not love anyone more right now than I do Adam Rippon. I am obsessed with him! His tweets and interviews are hilarious, he skates beautifully, and he is one gorgeous man. I am 100% here for Adam! The rest of the Olympics have been fun to watch. Are you watching? I did a poll on Instagram Stories and 55% of you said you didn’t care about the Olympics. I was/am so shocked! I LOVE the Olympics. My family and I went to the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. I remember it like it was yesterday. I remember walking around the Olympic park, watching the events, collecting souvenirs and Olympic pins that I still own, and all of the fun activities. I want to try and go to the Olympics in LA in a few years. Anyway, I cried a little when Shaun White was crying after his gold medal victory. That was emotional to see and his last run was wild. How they do it, I don’t know? I get scared going sledding. I also get very upset whenever someone falls, no matter what country they are from. Knowing how hard they worked to get there and then they fall, truly upsetting…. but still, go USA!!
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!! XO
