As pre-spring season is here I am slowly transitioning from my all black winter attire to a more colorful wardrobe. As I slowly build my spring wardrobe one of the brands I turn to for such items is Rebecca Taylor. From florals to ruffle dresses, this feminine brand truly embodies my style. As I was skimming through the new pre-spring collection I stumbled upon this poplin shirtdress with a flared hem and bell cut sleeves.

Shirtdresses are a great way to transition into spring. They can be worn as casual chic with heels or an everyday effortless look by pairing them with sneakers or slides. Such a perfect combo holds the test of time. What is a shirtdress? It’s a shirt that acts as a dress. Of course they have been altered throughout the years; some hanging like a sheath dress while others (like the one shown) is singed at the waist.  Brands can play with patterns and designs making them more masculine or feminine, tailoring to each their own style. As my style is feminine I gravitate towards ones that have delicate or statement detailing, florals, pastel colors, and so forth. This dress from Rebecca Taylor is everything I would want in a shirtdress. Simple detailing yet still holds the quintessential everyday wear. Shirtdresses are a must in every woman’s closet. It’s an article of clothing that will never go out of style. Even if you evolved and change your style, you will somehow always go back to the classic shirtdress.
