Happy Friday!! This week was a busy one– mostly a good busy but some of it made my head spin. Last weekend I moved rooms as my roommate moved out and I took over her bedroom. I still have a few things to do to the room like put up shelves. My dad flew in to help me move my stuff. We had the best time! It only took my 2 hours to move everything, so we had most of the weekend to hang out.

We went to dinner at Union Fare, Seamore’s, and The Smith. He really enjoyed all three restaurants. On Saturday we went downtown to the  911 memorial that is so nicely put together. You have to visit it. It is sad but well worth seeing. On Sunday it rained so we went to see the movie Black Panther. Everyone has been raving about it and I can see why. I loved it! My dad left on Monday and I was so sad to see him go. I love spending time with him and we truly had the best time! Monday night I went to the City Fit Life’s event at Athleta. I had no idea Athleta on 5th ave had a workout studio in the basement. It’s a nice space! The workout was hard but so much fun as I knew it would be.

Tuesday morning I went to the Alison Brod with Peter Thomas Roth event at Rumble. I LOVED Rumble! It’s a boxing class mixed with weights. This was my first time doing it and really enjoyed it. I can’t wait to go back! It reminded me of Soul Cycle in terms of it feeling like a party– with the instructor DJing and the lights going off to the beat. Even though I have boxed before this workout really kicked my butt. I felt sore that evening. Luckily the following morning the event I attended was a sit-down breakfast so I didn’t have to move my sore body that much.

I attended the Marie Claire’s Sustainability Forum at Hearst Towers. I had a plus one so I asked Emily from Empire Style of Mind to go with me. Very serendipitous as she studied sustainable clothing in college– which I had NO idea! The forum was right up her alley. Anyway, it was a really great event and I learned so much about eco-friendly clothing and how it can really help the environment. I also had no idea what brands are eco-cautious. H&M for instance is trying to be entirely eco-friendly by 2030. Meaning all of their clothes will be made out of waste. They also have a service where you can go to any H&M and donate any textiles from any brand. They then take the clothing and make it into products. Pretty cool huh? During the forum they had many panelist there from the United Nations, Dean of Parson’s School of Design, CEO of Redken, Head of Sustainability from H&M, Founders of Maison de Mode, Head of Amazon News, ABC News Host Rebecca Jarvis, and more. As I said I learned so much and it had me really thinking about being more eco-friendly. I am conscious about what I eat and what beauty products I use, I never really thought about the clothes I wear. This does not mean I am going to throw out my clothes or not buy from brands who are not sustainable with their fabrics, but I will donate these clothes to a service that reuses them for products.  After the forum Emily and I jetted downtown to the Red Light PR collection preview. They had different brands like Line and Dot and Catherine Gee.

Yesterday was so crazy I felt like my head was caught off. I had so much work to do– going over contracts, creating content, and so forth. My head was spinning by evening. That morning I had a meeting with Furla to preview their fall/winter collection. They have such cute and playful handbags! One of their handbags was tennis inspired and I am dying to get it! Hello US Open outfit.  The rest of the day was spent pulling out my hair trying to make a few deadlines.

This weekend the fun does not stop! Tonight I am attending the Major League Baseball kickoff season Food Fest event. It will be different food vendors that represent each baseball team in the country. Cause nothing says MLB like a bunch of fashion bloggers haha! I am really looking forward to the event. I think it is going to be a good one. I am not the biggest baseball fan but I appreciate food and a good party… can’t go wrong!

For Saturday and Sunday Olay invited me to attend Beautycon. If you do not know what Beautycon is, it’s the BIGGEST beauty industry/insider convention. I am going to look like a fish out of water with my mascara and a little blush. I can not wait to see people’s makeup and to learn a few beauty tips. I am by far the wrong person to give any makeup tutorial tips, but who knows, maybe after this weekend I’ll become an expert beauty blogger! There are going to be a few panel discussions and performances. Not sure who is performing but I know Paris Hilton and Lucy Hale are going to be panelist and I am SO excited for their session. I am not a fan of Paris Hilton but seeing her will still be cool. Lucy Hale I am a fan of as Pretty Little Lairs is one of my favorite shows of all time. This will be my first time attending Beautycom and I think it ‘s going to be a great experience!

I am so sad about Barbara Bush passing away. I LOVE her! I think she is a really great role model. She sorta reminds me of my grandmother who passed away when I was younger. She was also an enforcer type of woman. She was tough but soft, had strong morals and values, and was a classy, graceful lady through and through. Barbara and 41’s love story is my absolute favorite. You could just tell how much they were in love and were best friends. While reading the Bush twin’s book they mentioned that their grandparents fall asleep every night holding hands. Now that is the type of relationship I pray for. My heart aches for George H.W. and the family. She was an remarkable woman that did so much for this country.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!! XO
