“be still before the lord and wait patiently for him”

-Psalms 37:7

Happy Friday!! I am currently in Columbus, Ohio for a long week and much needed break from the city. I flew home to celebrate a family friend’s wedding tomorrow. My sister’s childhood best friend is getting married and I can not wait to see her walk down the aisle. The wedding is going to be lots of fun and so beautiful! It’s been pretty crazy in the city and I am happy to be having a little break, relaxing at home and spending time with my family.

Monday and Tuesday I squeezed in as much as I could before jetting off to Columbus. Monday I stopped by Penhaligon’s to view their new perfume collection of Kensington Palace. Penhaligon’s is a London based perfume and cologne company– which was perfect timing considering I got up at 5:30am to watch the Royal Wedding and have been obsessing over anything and everything London base. Penhaligon’s scents smell so divine and each bottle is designed differently according to the scent. Some have heads of animals in gold brass as the top, some had cute bows and ribbons on it. Most of their scents are inspired by London like the Royal Ballet, the Palace, Queen Elizabeth, and so on. I ended up going home with a scent that smelled of a garden called Equinox Bloom Eau de Parfume. My other favorites were Luna and Elizabeth Rose.

Tuesday morning I went uptown to preview the Draper James summer and fall 2018 collection, plus more of her collaboration with Crate and Barrel (which I am obsessed with!). Draper James has lowered their prices which will make a lot of people happy to hear. Only their special occasion dresses will remain high priced along with their exclusive collections at Net-A-Porter and SAKS. Draper James also has an exclusive collection at Rent the Runway which is a smart idea! For their summer collection expect lots of florals (even kids clothing!!). For the fall there are lots of navy and red items along with fall florals and houndstooth jackets.

That evening I went all the way uptown to Sachin + Babi to preview Senreve collection. Senreve is a San Francisco based handbag brand that is relatively new (only a little over a year old). I discovered their bags a month ago and have been obsessing over the Maestra bag ever since. So when they invited me to view the collection I was ecstatic! I want one in every color! After chit-chatting with the Co-Founder Wendy and swooning over their bags, I headed over to Bloomingdales for the M.Gemi x Empire Style of Mind (my friend Emily’s blog) event. I am a HUGE fan of M.Gemi. I wear a pair of their slingback almost everyday of the year and I wear them everywhere. I have had them for almost two years and they are still in perfect condition. The sole of the heels are still in perfect condition despite me walking all over New York with them. They truly have the best shoes and I will vouch for them any day. Their shoes are manufactured in Italy, which you know that means they are great quality. It was nice to talk to some of my friends at the event and look at M.Gemi’s summer collection.

Since being home I haven’t really done much except for hanging out with my family and working out with my sister and cousin. We have the wedding tomorrow to attend but tonight I am going to a fundraiser for DKMS. One of my best friends from high school, Brendan, has this serendipitous story of how he became a bone marrow donor and saved a little child’s life who was battling cancer. It has inspired many people here in Columbus, including myself (sending in my kit soon!). Brendan is now in the forefront of campaigning and fundraising for this charity and I couldn’t be more proud of him. Anyway, tonight they are having a fundraising event at Harrison’s on Kenny road from 5-9pm. PLEASE stop by if you have the time!

For Memorial Day my parents always host a cookout for my entire family. I am very much looking forward to this party. I love getting together with my cousins, aunts, uncle, and grandmother. It’s always a good time!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend and happy Memorial Day!! XO
