One of the coolest parts about city life is seeing the different murals all around town. Whether it’s a protest, an inspirational quote, or simple a beautiful design, each wall makes you stop and look. When I see a mural I think of the artist, how talented they must be. Not only are the murals creative, they are always perfectly crafted. I wonder how does one start a mural– do you outline it first or is the artist that talented to wing it? What is (or why choose) the story behind the mural and why create it in this location? I am probably thinking too much into it, but it interest me. Art in general interest me.

Although there are many murals and graffiti walls in New York, it is not something I have really shared or taken photos in front of. Not until I saw this cute floral mural at the Yumi Kim store in the East Village. I knew it was perfect for pictures and my aesthetics. Then to my surprise I saw that the floral mural has a……. dumpster as part of it. Not really my aesthetics but you do what you can for the gram. So I hopped onto dumpster while my photographer snapped a few pictures.

To go along with the flower wall, my midi dress from Rebecca Taylor. Although it is seersucker it can be a great transitional piece for the fall by pairing it with a jean jacket. The rouge rose color itself is dark enough that it doesn’t necessarily scream summer. The look of this dress is suppose to be cold shoulder (seen here), but I prefer both straps to be up. This midi dress can easily be worn from day, having brunch with friends or going shopping, to a night out on the town. Even on hot summer days I will put it on, throw my hair up (sometimes wear my KEDS) and go.  It’s comfortable, feminine, and chic. A timeless dress that you will gravitate towards each time you look into your closet.
