The past two days I have been feeling a little run down and under the weather. It does not help that it has been raining and a little cold here, but I know there are still warm days ahead. Summer does not officially end for a few more weeks. I always find this time of year to be difficult to dress. It’s too hot to wear fall clothing, but it is September. That is why I am gravitating towards dress that suffice the warmth but still work for the fall season. This dress from Derek Lam is a great transitional piece.

Typically you will see asymmetrical hemlines during the summer, as the line does give much of an affect when worn with tights of boots. However, it being a darker color makes it acceptable for the fall season. You could easily pair it with a denim jacket or a cute blazer to give it a more layered fall look. It can also be styled casual with flats or elevated with heels for a night out. Even though the colder seasons are approaching it does not mean you can’t still enjoy the sunshine while it last or buy something now and save it for spring and summer next year. This is a dress that will never go out of style, even though it does look on trend. Ruffle hemlines and cami dresses will never go out of style.
I love the color of this dress! It’s so pretty and I didn’t realize it was asymmetrical in your first photo! The dark color really does make it perfect for fall.
You are rocking this dress girl friend!
How beautiful do you look in navy! This dress will perfectly transition from summer into fall.
