“when you finally meet the love of your life, you will know exactly why you had to let the others go”

-Mark Anthony Poet

Happy Friday!! Is Mercury in retrograde because this week has been bonkers. If something could go wrong it did. From my couch being a week late and talking to a dozen different people who are giving me different answers, to my seamless order never showing up, to not being able to send my rough draft to a client, to not being on an event list (when I was clearly invited.. still got in though), and much more went wrong. But my favorite was when a shelf and the corner wall both got in the way of my head that caused me a pretty big headache (yes I hit my head twice this week and it still feels bruised). I am ok though… 2+2=5… see, no damage has been done. This week has been a joke. TGIF! It’s the weekend and for the safety of myself and others I shall become a hermit. I know all of these problems are minor in life and there are serious problems going on like the fires in California. All I need is a good nights sleep, a glass of wine, a good movie, a week of seclusion, and a big hug.

After surviving my seamless order not arriving (so hangry), I reflexed on this past week and realize it hasn’t been so bad. Last Sunday I attended Emily’s Friendsgiving dinner, which was delicious! I made my famous balsamic roasted carrots that are always a big hit at parties–super easy to make, recipe here. After dinner I went to the The Garrett in the East Village to celebrate Sarah, from City Fit Life, birthday! It was a fun evening and I had a blast at both parties.

Tuesday I attended Bed Bath and Beyond’s holiday preview with Alison Broad PR. Alison Broad always puts on the best PR previews as they transform their showroom in this big magical atmosphere. This time around their showroom was a winter wonderland and a small cabin. Very cute! There are a lot of great stuff Bed Bath and Beyond has that would make great gifts this season like this chic Victrola bluetooth record player, This exclusive line with Uggs, a vintage ice cream maker, and my personal favorite, all of the Harry Potter games and decor. After Alison Brod’s I went uptown to celebrate Henri Bendel’s last holiday window unveiling party. So sad!! I guess sales have been booming lately, so maybe there is hope that the 5th avenue store will stay open! The party was fun and a little sad knowing this may be the last time I ever step foot in the iconic store. They had Izak Zenou doing illustrations– Izak is the artist behind all of the Henri Bendel’s illustrations you have seen for the past two decades. He is one of the most notable fashion illustrators out there, it was pretty neat to see him work.

My holiday festivities did not stop there, on Wednesday night I went to Bergdorf’s to celebrate the unveiling of their holiday windows– which looks amazing! They had cocktails, a DJ, two girls on stilts dressed like holiday jesters or maybe they were candy corns(?). I wasn’t there very long but it was a nice party. I left early to head back downtown to the Uber event to celebrate the launch of their new rewards program. It was a pretty cool event! They have 4 different rewards that they are rolling out Blue (get $5 cash back for every 500 points), Gold (flexible cancellations and refunds within 15 mins), Platinum (price protection between your two favorite places on UberX), and Diamond (access to premium rewards like surprise complimentary upgrades). At the event there were 4 sections for all 4 reward;  one had a contortionist, another had someone pretending to be the Salt Man Salt Bae guy but with glitter, another had Dō ice cream, and the last section had a mini office where you could create a little flip book of pictures. It was a very fun event!

This weekend I will be packing to head home on Monday, attend different workouts so I can eat lots of turkey, hopefully get my couch and finish setting up my living room, maybe go see a movie (want to see Bohemian Rhapsody), and enjoying the weekend with friends!

Have a great weekend xo
