One of my favorite things about the holiday season is the chance to really get dressed up; put on a fancy dress and have a merry time. Holiday parties can vary from ugly Christmas sweaters to black tie affairs. While all are enjoyable, I love having the chance to wear a pretty dress. It reminds me of back in the day when every party entailed a cocktail dress or an evening gown.

Living in New York there are plenty of opportunities to go to galas, balls, and black tie affairs. It has been a while since I have attended all of the above, in 2019 it is on my list to start going to such events again. When you are going through the party circuit it is nice to have a few gowns to easily grab and throw on. I saw this metallic dress from Marchesa (now on sale!) and knew it would be a great dress to wear to more elaborate parties. I love the lace design with a cut out back and beautiful metallic blue coloring (also comes in black and gold). The tea length is perfect for either a black tie event or a cocktail party. As long as I get to dress up and have a good time, that is all that I can ask for this season. Happy Holidays!
