“It will come when your heart is ready to carry it”

Happy Friday! TGIF because today is not my day. Apparently it is ok to do construction and drill at 3am in NYC. It kept me up all night long; well that and the fact they turned off the water to my building for the construction. I had a photoshoot this morning and spent all last night worried that I wouldn’t be able to shower before the shoot (it turned back on and I got to shower). I barely slept last night. Then during my shoot there was deodorant on my pants (HOW did that happen?), smeared lipstick, mascara in my hair, accidentally left my garment bag full of clothes at one location (got it back), and my favorite part, was hit by a revolving door– too embarrassed to tell.  This is all minor occurrences that I lived through to tell the tale. I am excited to see what other incidents can happen to me today. Life is fun some times.

My week wasn’t all Charlie Brown missing the football, it was pretty good. I started to listen to Dax Shepard’s podcast called Armchair Expert. Absolutely love it! It’s not only hilarious, it is enjoyable to hear a different side of celebrities that you may not know about. He recently (like two days ago) did an episode with Jason Biggs that I really enjoyed. I have seen Jason Biggs and his wife Jenny at a few events here in the city and find them to both be so funny and cute together. I had no idea he has dealt with drug and alcohol abuse. It’s an interesting and highly entertaining podcast that I recommend.

Besides listening to podcast and of course re-binge watching The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (because it’s just THAT good), I attended Kendra Scott x DL1961 event this past Monday night. It was nice to catch up with the PR reps from both brands as I have not seen them in a while. The event featured the newest jeans from DL1961– cute colors and fun prints. And Kendra Scott’s new jewelry collection– new designs that are so cute! The event was fun and a great way to kick off the week.

Tuesday I did a specialty shoot with a new furniture brand. I can’t tell you who just yet, but I know you are going to love this new line!!! They have such cute stuff that will sell out in a second (think pink couch!!). It will all be pretty affordable too. If I didn’t just redecorate my apartment I would buy everything in this collection. Anyway, the shoot was held at an event space that was set up like a showroom. They had different decor and furniture set up for me to shoot with. The collection does not drop until March (lame), but am so excited to show you when it does!!

The following evening I attended Instyle’s Holiday Party. I had a blast there! The food was amazing and the drinks were flowing. Samson The Goldendoodle was there shooting for  Leckie’s 12 Dogs of Christmas campaign. I have never been happier. What a great celebrity sighting! In the beginning Samson had on a suit for photos, but then changed into a Santa costume for when the party really got going. I was basically following the dog around the entire time… everyone was. When I was petting Samson I kept thinking about how this dog makes more money than 95% of the people there. That’s showbiz babe. It was great to have him there, really life’s up the party. Also made me heart ache because I want a puppy so bad.

This weekend I am going to see the NYC Ballet’s The Nutcracker. I am so excited! It is a magical and pretty ballet. Surprisingly as a dancer growing up I have never danced to The Nutcracker, not even during our Christmas recitals. I would of have loved to be a sugar plum fairy. Do you think it is too late for me to audition to be in the ballet now? Even as an under, under-study? Just for one matinée? Maybe my dream will come true someday. Until then I’ll enjoy the ballet from my seat.

Besides the ballet not much else is going on this weekend that I have planned. Will most likely frolic around the city– I do want to check out the new FAO Schwarz store. I have already seen the window displays of 5th ave and will see the famous Christmas tree next week. Maybe I’ll make my friends go to one of the many holiday themed decorated bars in the city for a drink.

Speaking of fun holiday things to do— if you are in NYC on Tuesday the 18th I am hosting an event at J.Crew at the Rockefeller Center location from 6-8pm. The event will be centered around color styling and gifting!! Go look at the tree, ice skate for a while, then come shopping with me. Think last minute holiday gifts or outfits! At least stop by and say Hi– would love to meet you!!

Have a wonderful weekend xo
