Happy Friday! Surprise! I am home in Columbus, Ohio. I flew in yesterday morning and am staying until Monday. There is not a particular reason for me to be in town except that I wanted to see my family. It is nice to be home with them, doing nothing. It feels good to be home.

There is something so heartwarming and content about being in your childhood home. It sometimes feels like the only place I can truly feel comfortable, like the house knows me so well and has seen me through every stage. I have been sleeping in my bedroom since I was 2 years old. My parents never turned my room or my sister’s room into something else.  Except my dad has his clothes in my closet…. in fact my dad has clothes in my parents room, my room, and my sister’s room. He irons his shirts in my room then changes in my sisters room… what a diva. If you are wondering why he doesn’t do all of that in his own room, it is because he doesn’t want to wake up my mom. True love. Anyway, my bedroom still has my furniture from when I was in high school. My closet is still the club house that I turned it into when I was about 7 years old with a poster of Full House, a D.A.R.E sticker, a watch and a writing utensils placement tapped to the wall, and of course the drawing of the American flag that I made because my club house is patriotic. I believe there were more things in the club house but eventually either fell off from the walls or I took them down. My ceiling still has the glow in the dark solar system that I put on it when I was in middle school. Some of the stars and planets still glow but are very weak. LOL to when my parents want to move and they have to scrap it off the ceiling. I will be too busy or sick that day. Anyway, it is nice to have all of these memories still intact, still there for me to feel comfort and loved. I’ll never live there again (knock on wood), but it will always be my home.

Besides feeling overly comfortable in my childhood bedroom, upon landing (btw we were on the tarmac at La Guardia for an hour and a half…) my mother and sister picked me up and we went straight to Easton Town Center to go shopping. Although I wanted to go shopping, I always want to go shopping, I really wanted to go to Easton to see the Cosi ‘The Rooms’ Exhibition. In the indoor mall area they have a small exhibition of different type of rooms. One room was filled with stickers- you were given stickers to place anywhere upon entering. There were a few rooms that were psychedelic, one in particular has prints that would change with the lighting. Another room was all blue with large foam shapes that you can either build something or knock things over. It takes less than 10 minutes to see everything, but it was fun to do.

The rest of this weekend I will be hanging out with my cousin and sister, not sure what we are going to do yet. We are working out together but I know we will be going out one evening. I will also be visiting my grandmother and playing with my niece at some point. Mostly just hanging out with my parents all weekend.

This past week was another slow one. My left shoulder is feeling a little better. After about 4ish days off from working out (I did go to yoga one of the days but barely did the movements) I went to DanceBody on Monday. It felt SO good to be dancing and moving my body. Tuesday I went to sculpt at Fithouse and it felt good. I am taking the next couple of days to rest. I do not want to over do it right now My shoulder feels better but it still hurts a little. I am going to System of Strength this weekend and will see what I can and can not do since it is a Control class– heavy weights. When I get back to NYC I am going to go back to Cryotherapy and try Acupuncture.

Besides resting my shoulder I had a lot of work do to this past week– a few collaborations to finish and submit. I spent most of the time on my computer. I was able to get out of the house Wednesday night to celebrate Neely and Chloe’s new collaboration with Five Story. The new line consist of the mini lady bag and cosmetic bags in satin in a solid blue color and floral prints. The collection is so pretty and I think will sell out fast!

Last weekend I finally went to the Andy Warhol Exhibition at the Whitney Museum. Pro tip: buy your tickets in advanced. The line to buy tickets was wrapped around the corner. I pre-bought mine and went straight in. The exhibition was great- you saw all of Warhols usual Pop Art creations. Some of it surprised me however. Just when you think you know all about Warhol’s style you learn something new. He created a collection of paintings called Piss Paintings also known as Oxidation Series. You guessed it, he used his own urine (along with friends) mixed with copper based paint. Not something I would want in my home but still shows his abstract thinking. I am glad I was able to catch the exhibition before it ends in March. Definitely recommend going to it if you are in town or live in NYC.

The Jonas Brothers are back together!! Now if 1D can get back together all will be right with the world…..

Have a wonderful weekend xo
