Happy Friday!! This week I started off with a little bit of anxiety, but have ended the week on a good note. I think starting my real estate course had me panicking. As I have to take a final exam, I am extremely nervous. I have not taken one at this stature since college (unless you count Buzzfeed quizzes determining whether or not I am going to get married). Anyway, I was having flash backs of anytime I have ever not done as well on a test throughout my education. Overanalyzing I know. I have already finished Ch.1 and Ch 2. and took a mini quiz where I got a 95%…. so far so good! Anyway, as the week gradually went on I felt much better and feel much more relaxed.
Besides studying and working I had a few events this week. Tuesday afternoon I had a nice little spa day at the new BLVD located at the Neiman Marcus in Hudson Yards. I had a face and neck peel. Luckily the Esthetician said all of my spots (acne and sunspots) are superficial. Meaning they are surfaced spots and not deep into my skin. After one or two more peels they will be gone. It’s good to have a face and neck peel to get rid of excess dead skin. I am currently only peeling a little, which means I must be doing a great job at exfoliating. I have had a face peel before but never a neck peel (she even did the upper portion of my chest). I guess this is something one must worry about as you get older. BLVD offers manicures, blowouts, waxing, brows, laser treatments, and lash extensions. Definitely check them out as the place is beautiful, and afterwards you can shop at Neimans and buy yourself a new dress! Sounds like the perfect day to me!
Wednesday I was extremely exhausted. I could barely keep my eyes opened yet I couldn’t fall asleep. I tried to take a catnap before my evening event but couldn’t. I don’t know why I was so tired, maybe my body needed more sleep or maybe I need a break. I did work all weekend long with photoshoots, studying, etc. Who knows. My evening event was at the new Dermalogica pop-up (ends on the 24th!). They are celebrating their new product: Prisma Protect SPF30. I went there early so I could do my rounds without having to wait for anything so I could get home and get to bed early. The first thing I did was a face consultation. I have combination skin– parts of my face are both dry and oily. We also talked about my sunspots (seems like this is the theme of the week). The Esthetician suggested their Overnight Repair Serum…. which I already have but don’t use. Oops! After the consultation I had my palm read. I was SO excited there was a palm reader there, you know how much I love that stuff! Anyway, she pretty much nailed who I was — independent, does not like to be told what to do, and the things that I have been worried about lately. She even said some personal things that another palm reader said to me back in the fall about this upcoming year. Crazy! She did tell me I am going to live a very long life, which is most likely true as I come from a family where most people live to their 90’s and even past 100 years old. I left feeling assured and calm about things that I have been losing sleep over lately. She also told me that I work too much and it’s not only dimming my spark but also causing health problems. Vacation soon? ha, that would be nice.
Last night I went to the St. John fall ’19 collection preview event. They are a high end brand that design items that are classic basics with a little flair here and there with color and pattern. I saw a lot of great suiting matching sets, elegant evening wear, chic coats, and more. The event was nice and I loved seeing the new collection. The food was great too– all gluten free! That hardly EVER happens! They had this amazing beets and coconut hors d’oeuvre that was delicious and yummy mini cakes. They also has this small, no bigger than a quarter, shrimp with guacamole on a tortilla chip with a jalapeño the size of a speck of dirt. Well I am not one for spicy food and for some reason this speck of jalapeño really got me and I about died. My mouth was on fire, I was sweating, it was as if I entered into a jalapeño eating contest. I couldn’t drink my glass of champagne anymore and had to go get water. Even when I got home I was chugging water. Kristen, who was with me, also had the hors d’oeuvre and was completely fine…… am I a wuss? Besides my mouth feeling like a burning building the evening was great.
Today I am heading to an event with Kate Spade to celebrate their new handbag collection the nicola twistlock. It’s such a cute bag and I am excited for the event this afternoon. This weekend I do not have any set plans except for studying. Will hopefully take a break to spend time with friends, maybe stop by Macy’s in Harold Square for their Floral Show Journey To Paradisios. I, of course, will be working out and relaxing as well.
Have a wonderful weekend xo
