Happy Friday!! There is nothing like a short work week, am I right? Although this week was short I am still happy it is the weekend as I have some fun things in store.
Tonight I am attending a live podcast taping in Brooklyn. The podcast, Back To One, is interviewing Christopher Abbott who plays Yossarian in Hulu’s mini-series Catch-22. I know I have been talking about this mini-series all week but it really is that good! At least I think so. Anyway, I have never heard of the podcast before but was aimlessly scrolling through Catch-22 hashtag the other day when I stumbled upon this live taping with Christopher Abbott and thought, why not? Something different and I find it will be very interesting. I have been joking all week that I now have a crush on Christopher Abbott, but really I do not know anything about the actor. All I know is that he was on Girls for a few seasons (I only watched one season) and now this. I think he did such a brilliant job on this mini-series. I want to know more about the behind the scenes and his process in becoming Yossarian.
I have always been so curious about people who are part of the creative world; what makes them tick? where do they get their inspiration from? And for actors/actresses I am curious as to why they choose certain roles. You can tell sometimes that certain actors choose roles based on how fun they will have or they need the money. Some actors, Leonardo Dicaprio is one of them, you can tell they view acting as an art or creating art. So I am curious as to what Christopher Abbott’s reasoning in choosing roles. I get a Leo vibe from me. And yes, he is pretty handsome so that was also an initiative to go.
Tomorrow I am going to the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic! I went last year for the first time and had so much fun. I am very excited to attend another year in the Rosé Garden. I bought a new floral dress and a hat to wear and am ready to drink lots of champagne! I am going with Emily, Jennifer, Ashley, and Allie. I can’t wait!!
After the holiday weekend I was having trouble getting up. All I wanted to do this week was sleep. Sunday I slept in pretty late and still took a nap later that day. Now I am having issues getting up and keep hitting the snooze button. Maybe I need a vacation from my vacation? Although I was sleepy I still had the energy to workout. I went to Rumble on Tuesday. I have not been to Rumble in a long time, it felt great to be back and punching the bag. During Rumble you box with the bag for about 15 mins then lift weights for 15mins and repeat. It’s a great HIIT workout to do.
Yesterday morning I went to The Gregory Hotel for a mini-facial with Malaya Organics, given by makeup artist Ta Ming Chen, while browsing through Maggie Wu’s new collection. It was a nice way to start the day! Ta Ming said I have skin like a baby… I do have pretty soft skin, genetics. The Malaya products she used on me was their face and eye serum, along with a facial massage and using Maggie Wu’s rose quartz roller. Heaven!
Last night I went to see Pretty Woman: The Musical with Jenna. We both LOVED it! The actors were so good– incredible voices. I have seen the movie a million times and was happy to see that the musical follows the storyline pretty accurately, as well as using the same dialogue. Can’t have Pretty Woman without saying “you work on commission? Big mistake..Big! Huge! I have to go shopping now! Ah the best part ever! Besides the classic lines, the guy who plays the bell hop was hysterical! Maybe my favorite part of the play. Definitely go see it!!
