With the 4th of July being around the corner it’s time to start thinking about what we are going to wear. When it comes to my patriotic look, I like to dress up a little but keep it casual. For the 4th this year I am heading back home to Columbus. It is not only the 4th but also my high school reunion. I am on the planning committee for the reunion and it’s the day after the 4th. Otherwise I think I would have either stayed here in the city or go to the Hamptons to celebrate. Anyway, I decided to make a long trip out of it and will be home for over a week. I am excited to be home with my family, see my friends, catch up with high school pals, and celebrate Independence Day.
The 4th of July is a pretty big deal in my home town of Upper Arlington. We start the day off with a parade followed by party hopping around town and ending with fireworks in the park. In my heyday of socializing and being able to drink all day (ah youth) I would meet my friends right after the parade and hang out until the wee hours of the night. Everyone would gather at the local bar after the fireworks to continue the celebration. It was the greatest day of the year. Now I will go to the parade with my family, go home for a few hours to relax, then head to either a party or straight to the fireworks in the evening. Which I then will call it a night. Insert hashtag old. Anyway, although the day is not as wild as it used to be, I still enjoy the festivities of this patriotic celebration. I am deciding between two outfits: this romper and this dress. Waiting for them both to arrive in the mail. I may end up wearing one in the morning and the other in the evening, or completely scraping them both and buy something new. I have gathered some great red, white, and blue options to celebrate the 4th of July in style!

Cute ideas! 4th of July is my favorite. Do you own Keds…I’ve been eyeing a pair. Comfy? I don’t love my Chucks…just not my favs. Do you wear them with no show socks? Let me know and thanks!
Thank you! I do own Keds and wear them ALL of the time!! They are really comfy and I do not wear them with socks. A personal preference– my mom wears them with footies.
