“One of the attributes of love is to bring harmony and order out of chaos”
-Molly Haskell
Happy Friday!! I am currently enjoying day 3 of New York Fashion Week. I have to admit it was a good thing I was sick last weekend, giving me plenty of serene time before the chaos of this month. Even after fashion week ends I have events, meetings, and projects galore. Happy about it though- was getting a little discourage from the lack of things in the summer. Anyway, NYFW has been off to a great start and I am excited for what is to come!
Fashion week for me started on Wednesday with a meeting at Lafayette148 new showroom/ store in the Upper East Side (go see it, it’s beautiful!) to view their SS20 collection. It pains me to see spring and summer clothing, knowing I am about to embark on harsh winter days. But enough about my sorrows, the spring collection looks amazing with a yellow faux leather skirt, sequined dresses (YES! sequins for spring!), gorgeous camel sweaters, and pretty white dresses. Can it be spring already?! After Lafayette148 I had a meeting with Sézane to view their fall collection. The Parisian brand has beautiful prints and abnormal color palettes for fall like purple, green, pink. Don’t get me wrong I love the camel, black and burgundy tones of fall and winter, but I love it when brands step outside the norms of seasonal colors.
Thursday was my first day of shows and presentations. I started the day with the Tadashi Show at Spring Studios. Tadashi always have beautiful evening gowns that are classic with a twist like prints, colors, sequins, structure. After Tadashi I went over to Root NYC for the L’Agence Presentation. I basically want everything in the collection– snakeskin skirt and blazer set, green silk dress, light beige tweed shorts and blazer set, a cute floral off the shoulder top, and more. Later that evening I went to Blancore– a very new brand- to look at a few of their current collection. Their clothing is very asymmetrical and unique.
Today I am getting my hair done with Redken’s then heading to Suite’s NYFW party. Should be a fun time! This weekend is filled with a few more shows– hoping to still get invited to a few (fingers crossed!). At some point I want to stop by Shopbop’s pop-up store that will be open until September 22nd– located in Soho. There are a lot of free NYFW events open to the public that are happening within the next week that I may attend.
Have a wonderful weekend xo
