You have all you need, right now, right here– now go make life beautiful.”

Happy Friday! This week was a rollercoaster of emotions with a side of hives. Yes I broke out in hives.. again. I was so stressed out last weekend that on Sunday I woke up with hives all over my chest and a few on my face… awesome. By Monday I hit a breaking point and started to sob. A few things in my life are just not working out anymore and I have to part ways. So I took Monday to sit in front of the TV and watch Gilmore Girls to cheer myself up. Perks of working from home, I took a day off. The weekend was not as great as the weekend before and I can NOT believe I did not talk about this during last Friday’s Simply Smitten Series. Well I can officially die now as I have peaked in NYC– I saw Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick. I was reading in St. Vincent Triangle on 7th for most of the afternoon. Upon leaving I was crossing the street on 7th and a couple was coming towards me. At first I thought- oh that lady looks like SJP. Then I saw Matthew Broderick and internally started to freak out that I almost ran right into them. They suddenly just stopped in the middle of the crossing and without thinking I tried to go in between them then at the last second went around them. They had just come out of Elm Wellness, which was ironically exactly where I was going. Does this mean we are BFF’s now? I think so!!!!
Anyway, back to my gloomy day. My frown wasn’t going to stay long because Monday evening I went to the NYC premiere of Downton Abbey!!!!!! I continued to cry but this time out of happiness. I had THE BEST time! They brought out the entire cast (minus a few people) before the movie started and I about died. Michelle Dockery was there and she is my favorite. Unfortunately Maggie Smith was not there, which probably was for the best otherwise I would be in jail right now. No doubt if she was there I would have rushed onto the stage and tried to hug her. Anyway, the movie is SO SO SO good! It’s hilarious (a lot more light hearted jokes as oppose to the series which is bit more dramatic), true to the storyline and the characters, and had a lot of sweet moments. I highly suggest going to see it! It comes out in theaters today. I can’t wait to see it again!
After an epic night that I doubt I will ever top, the rest of my week was filled with events. Wednesday I got up bright and early to head to Exhale Spa on Central Park South for an event with Allswell. We took Exhale’s 30 min recovery class– foam rollers, stretch bands. It was lovely! I am someone who really enjoys stretching and anything that is self-care for your body. I foam roll, lay on massage balls (like tennis balls), and have a massage stick that I use daily. Recovery is a huge, very important part of not only fitness but your over-all health. Anyway, the class was amazing and so worth going to! Allswell was sweet enough to gift us a throw blanket that I have been cuddling with ever since.
That evening I went to the launch party of a new preppy brand called Court and Rowe. They currently have a pop-up store in Soho on Broadway. The store is beautiful with toile wallpaper, victorian paintings, a large bookshelf, plaid and animal print decor– very eclectic but works so well. The party was very crowded, I could barely move around. I want to go back so I can actually take a look at the collection and the store without saying “Excuse me… sorry…. moving through” the entire time. But the party was lots of fun and I am excited to see Court and Rowe grow!
Yesterday morning wasn’t the best. After going to Dancebody I realized I had lost my AirPods case. I can not for the life of me figure out where I put it. I am pretty good at making sure the case in my bag at all times. They must of have either fallen out when I went to grab something in the subway or I took them out and placed them somewhere at Dancebody in Tribeca. I called DB and they couldn’t find them. So now I have the headphones but nothing to charge them. It is also not in my room, I have teared it apart. Looks like I am going to the Apple store this weekend. After I got home from DB I went to open my blog to finish my post for the day and it wouldn’t open; my blog or WordPress! It was completely gone– an error was showing up. I texted my sister to have her check on her end, thinking it could be my Wifi connection but it wasn’t working for her either. So I began to panic– did my site crash? Did someone hack my site? Did my domain mess up and someone bought it out? I was freaking out! I was on hold with my hosting site as well as emailed Chloe Digital to help figure out what the hay hay was going on. FINALLY my website came back to life as well as WordPress. CD said they must of have been doing an update– let a girl know what’s going on WordPress, geez! I am grateful it was nothing major, but sorry if you tried to get on my website yesterday and it was not working.
Last night I went to the Who What Wear party– launching the new collaboration between Scoop NYC x Walmart. Scoop NYC used to be a retail store that held high end contemporary brands (sorta like Intermix). Well it went out of business about 2 years ago and Walmart picked them up! They will be having seasoning collections exclusively at Walmart starting with this fall season. The party was fun; a nice chance to see my friends and chit chat while drinking sparkling rosé.
Tomorrow I am speaking at the Blogger Union NYC Meet-Up. We are discussing how to get found as a blogger and how to stand out. I am a bit nervous– more about sounding articulate than the topic itself. Even though I am speaking, I am excited to learn from the other guest speaker Natalia. To see how she drives her business, engages with followers, her tips and tricks on everything– you are never too big or too success to stop learning. It is going to be a great time and hope you can join! Tickets are still on sale, the event is from 2-4pm.
Besides speaking in front of lots of people tomorrow– I plan on working out, read my book, catch up on shows, hang out with friends, etc. Most importantly- start looking at apartments! Yep!!! I am moving! Still staying in Manhattan but am moving to either a studio or 1 bedroom apartment. I am hoping to stay in the same area I am in now but am open to other locations in the city. SO SO SO EXCITED!
Have a wonderful weekend xo
