Happy Friday!! Only a few more sleeps until I head home for Thanksgiving! I am excited for a week of hanging out with my family and seeing my friends from home. It’s always nice to be home and in the comforts of childhood familiarities.

This past week was pretty quiet in terms of events. Wednesday evening I went to Tina The Musical, about Tina Turner. It was SO SO SO good!! Adrienne Warren, who plays Tina, did a phenomenal job, I was blown away by her! She has an incredible voice and portrays Tina to a tee. The entire show is very entertaining; people were dancing in their seats during “Proud Mary”. The encore had everyone up on their feet dancing, felt as if I was actually seeing Tina Turner in concert.  It was an incredible night! I will say, however, that it is not kid-friendly. As we all know, there is domestic abuse between Ike and Tina Turner that is prominent in the show. There are also racial slurs and gun violence. But the costumes are fabulous, the dancing is so good, and the music makes you want to get up and shake your tailfeathers. Definitely go see it!! I can’t stop listening to Tina Turner music– as you may have seen as I posted dancing to “Proud Mary” alone in my apartment on Insta Stories. It puts me in the best mood!

I started watching The Crown season 3, still have a few episodes left. I wasn’t sure if I would like it, to be honest, because of the change in the cast, but I have to say it is so good. Has Princess Anne become my new favorite royal? I think so! I enjoy her straight forward humor, tell-it-like-it-is attitude. I also have a new-found soft spot for Prince Charles and enjoy his storylines. What I love most about historical shows like The Crown is learning about events that happened that I either completely forgot learning about in high school or never knew about because I was not alive during that time period. And of course, England’s history is not thoroughly taught in an American history class. I can not wait until season 4 when Princess Diana arrives!!

Really nothing too exciting happened this week to tell. I went to the doctors for a general check-up and learned that I  currently have low Vitamin D. And it’s like yeah Doc, it’s called winter….. So I guess I need to start eating more Vitamin D riched foods and get out of my apartment once in a while. Other than my VD deficiency, I have been doing a lot of holiday shopping. And by holiday shopping I mean buying myself holiday outfits. So far I have bought this dress, this top, these pants, and these boots in coconut leather (not for holiday but for normal wear). I’ll end up buying more just to have on hand- you never know when a holiday party will be sprung upon you.

I have nothing on the agenda this weekend except to pack for Thanksgiving. I leave Monday morning for an entire week. It’s raining today so I’ll most likely stay home wrapped in a blanket watching a movie. Maybe I’ll go out and grab a drink with a friend. But ’tis the season to hibernate.

Have a wonderful weekend xo
