“I don’t have to chase extraordinary moments to find happiness,

it’s right in front of me if I’m paying attention and practicing gratitude.”

-Brené Brown

Happy Friday!! Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We had a great day, but it didn’t go without a little hiccup. While preparing dinner our electricity went out. My dad went outside to talk to the electrician that was on our street to see what was going on. Apparently a tree branch hit the lines a block away from us, so in order to fix it they shut off everyone’s electricity. We decided to pack up dinner and move Thanksgiving over to my sister’s house. Our electricity was back on by the time we got home. Besides not having power, I had a great time with my family.

I have been home in Columbus since Monday morning. It has been so nice to be home and spending time with my family. Monday evening I went out to dinner with my mom (my dad was at the OSU basketball game). My mom also babysits my niece a few days during the week. I have been loving spending time with her. She is 2 years old and has the best personality. She is always so happy and fun to be around. Apparently she thinks I am her sister, haha! Tuesday evening I stopped over at a friend’s house to catch up and meet her new baby girl. I wasn’t there very long, but it was nice to see her and meet the little lady.

Wednesday I spent with my parents going out to brunch and preparing to have everyone over for Thanksgiving. I also worked out with my sister at System of Strength. We took their In The Mix class, which is a combination of cardio, light and heavy weights. It was a good workout to do before we gobbled down turkey and pumpkin pie.

Our Thanksgiving day is pretty traditional. We get up early to watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, followed by the Dog Show, a little football, and start the preparations for dinner. My parents always host Thanksgiving Dinner, so a lot goes into the preparations. After dinner, when everyone has left, we usually watch a Hallmark Christmas movie.

This weekend I am heading over to my sister’s. My brother-in-law is going out of town with his dad on their annual fishing trip. We have plans to work out, watch a lot of Harry Potter and watch the OSU vs. Michigan game! Go Bucks!! I am excited to spend some quality time with my sister and my niece. It should be a fun weekend! Sunday I am going to a movie and dinner with my parents. We are planning on seeing ‘A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood’. I am pretty excited to see it, I love Tom Hanks and used to watch Mister Rogers as a kid. It is going to be a lovely weekend filled with family.

Have a wonderful weekend xo
