“That’s the most beautiful thing in the world: when two people become fluent in choosing one another.”

-Hannah Brencher

Happy Friday and Happy Valentine’s Day! Love is in the air and the town is decorated in pink and red hearts. Personally, I love Valentine’s Day; attached or not, I always have. It’s a day to celebrate the love we have for one another. It doesn’t have to be about a significant other, it can include the love we have for our friends, family, and ourselves. It makes me happy to see my friends in love, even strangers who are in love. It makes me happy to give and show love to people. I also enjoy a good RomCom story and I have always been a romantic. For me, it’s a happy holiday.

But besides wrapping myself in this holiday of love, these past few weeks have been pretty busy. New York Fashion Week has officially ended and I am not sad it see it go, personally. The winter fashion week is always a little strange; fewer people attend, brands/designers either do not participate or their shows are very small. This year I went into it not really wanting to go– I mean it does suck to stand in line in the bitter cold for an hour. But of course as the week went on I got serious FOMO about shows and events that I didn’t attend. I got mad at myself for not attending more, but I am also glad I didn’t go to anything. I know…. I know…… Anyway, Tuesday I had a ticket to the Cynthia Rowley show. This was my first time requesting an invitation, so naturally I got a priority standing ticket. There are 3 tiers when it comes to tickets; an assigned ticket (guarantee you get in and have a seat), priority standing (first to go in after ticket holders and a seat at any open space), standing (third to be let in and fills whatever seat is left/stand behind the bleachers). Of all the years I have attended NYFW, I have never known a time when standing wasn’t allowed in– especially priority standing. Well after waiting in line for an hour (and I was very close to the beginning of the line), they closed the doors and said they were not allowing any standing in. I couldn’t believe it! Even the security guard (who I have seen at every fashion week season) said he has never seen anything like this before, how chaotic it was and how many people were still waiting to get in. I was very disappointed and upset that I didn’t get in. This was the one show I was very much looking forward to. Hopefully, I will be able to get in during the fall season and finally see their runway show!

That was not the best way to end NYFW, but it is what it is. Luckily my week overall was a good one! I believe my seasonal depression is lifting and I am back to being positive and happy. It felt as if I have been in a bad mood for a month now. Ha… good times! Anyway, I am still dealing with the issue with my left shoulder/neck area. I talked more about it in this blog post here. My shoulder feels inflamed, weak, and irritated. I went back to the chiropractor on Tuesday for another adjustment. She said my shoulder is not as tight as it was on Saturday but I still need to work on it. It irritates me to lift weights, even 3lb weights or use bands. My body still feels a little out of alignment but much better than before. I have two more sessions lined-up with my chiropractor and a scheduled visit to a medical massage therapist. Tomorrow for 90 minutes, a massage therapist will be digging deep into my shoulder blade, trying to loosen the knots that are beyond tight. It sounds like a spa day, but it will not be. It is going to hurt. Medical massages are very different from your typical deep tissue massage from a spa. This guy is going to practically lift the muscles off of my bones. I can’t wait.

This morning I kicked off Valentine’s Day with a brunch at Maman in Tribeca. M.Gemi and NAADAM hosted the V-Day brunch to showcase their new collections. I had such a great time catching up with friends and celebrating the holiday.  The rest of this weekend I will be enjoying the city, surviving getting tortured during my massage, and celebrating Valentine’s Day.

Have a wonderful weekend xo
