One of my fitness goals this year is to wear more color when it comes to activewear. It seems like a simple goal, but for me, I am much more comfortable wearing all black while I workout. It’s no fuss, easy to throw on without thinking, and we all know black is a slender color. Here is an interesting article I recently read about our color choices for activewear and what it says about us.
As someone who has dealt with body image issues in the past, the last thing I want to do while working out is obsessed over whether my body looks a certain way in the mirror. For me, wearing more color helps me accept my flaws more, and let’s be honest, it’s a lot more fun to wear! Do not get me wrong, I am not stuck in the early ’00s with a baggie t-shirt. My activewear is still pretty cute, even if it is all black. I still wear crop tops and a little design on my leggings. I also have plenty of cute and colorful jackets and sweatshirts that I wear to and from my workout. Still, I get so jealous when I see others wearing such cute matching sets in bold colors or prints. I need to up my activewear game!
Another fitness goal was to start wearing matching sets; a crop top and leggings. Talk about not hiding anything from the mirror. I wear a sports bra with leggings to yoga and spin class, but that is it. I want to muster up the confidence to wear cute matching activewear sets while I do dance cardio or sculpt classes. Recently I came across this new to me brand called Girlfriend Collective. Instantly I fell in love with their comfy workout sets. I went from zero to a hundred with this bright peach color, and I am thinking of getting it also in navy for days where I want to wear color but not be in all black. This year I want to tackle all of my fitness goals, but first, you have to look cute and feel great before you can achieve anything.
