“To trust God in the light is nothing, but trust him in the dark…
that is faith”
Happy Friday! I hope you are all safe and healthy. I know this pandemic feels like it’s only getting messier with the hospitals overflowing and have a lack of equipment and tools they need. Just know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. We will all get through this and it will all be over someday.
I have to surround myself with positive things right now as I, like all of you, have anxiety and fear. NYC is a mess right now and it scares me to think what will happen if I get it. I stay inside as much as I can except for trips to the grocery store and CVS. I have limited my walks to keep with social distancing. People on the street are somewhat good with keeping 6 feet apart; they will stop walking so you can walk past a narrow part of the sidewalk or enter into and out of a store. It’s wonderful to see so many people being kind, selfless, and doing their part to curve the virus. BUT you do have those that are still not taking this thing seriously. I watched from my window a group of guys hanging out on the street last night. Even the one guy who had on a surgical mask was still high fiving his friends; they were all way too close to each other and hugging. It made me so upset to see. Anyway, I am really debating on getting outta dodge and going home to Columbus until this is all over. Things in NYC only seem to be getting worse and from what Governor Cuomo and Mayor de Blasio are saying; the peak of this in NYC will be in April… great. If I do go home I will drive- there is no way I am getting on a plane, taking the train or the bus. It would be nice to be surrounded by family and have a backyard to walk around in for fresh air.
Other than doing my duty in staying home I have been working out. My weights finally arrived so I am excited to start doing more sculpt and strength classes. I have been doing a lot of yoga to keep my body stretched and flexible. Sitting and laying on the couch for hours on end is starting to make my muscles cramp. Yoga also helps me feel calm.
I finished “Daisy Jones & The Six” and absolutely LOVED it! I highly recommend it! I hope they turn it into a movie. It’s about a fake rock band from the ’70s doing an interview decades later. I got really invested in the group and the music they were creating, I wish they were a real band. Another source of entertainment is, of course, binge-watching shows. I am for the first time watching Parenthood. I am currently on season 2. It is such a good show- I don’t know why I never watched it when it was currently on. I can’t say enough good things about it; it makes me happy, it makes me cry, it makes me feel good, and most importantly, we can all relate to the family dynamics. If you are looking for a show to binge, I highly suggest it. I know everyone is all about Tiger King right now, but in case you wanted something else. I watched one episode of Tiger King and wasn’t into it. I will most likely give it another go to see what all of the fuss is about and will probably end up watching the whole thing….plus I have nothing better to do.
Another form of entertainment is the HouseParty app. I have been playing games with my mom, aunt, and cousin. Yesterday we played for an hour and a half. They have trivia, quick draw, heads up, and a game called guac and chips (just like Cards Against Humanity). It’s a lot of fun and you are Facetiming when you play, which also leads to off-topic conversations from *cough* moms and aunts.
This weekend is going to be wild. I have a new book to read, puzzles to complete, workouts to do, and shows to watch. I am planning on watching Emma now that is has been released early. I have heard amazing things about the movie and that the costume and set design is stunning!
Have a wonderful, safe, and healthy weekend xo
