“Perhaps the feelings that we experience when we are in love represent a normal state.
Being in love shows a person who he should be.”
-Anton Chekhov
Happy Friday! I am soaking up every moment I have left here in Columbus before I return to NYC. It’s a bittersweet feeling. I have loved being home these past few months, spending time with my parents. I am really going to miss them! But I must return to my life. I am eager to get back to my apartment, walk around my favorite neighborhoods, and hopefully see my friends soon.
This past week I finally played tennis with my dad. We have been talking about it for so long. We played for about an hour at the courts in the park close to our house. We had a lot of fun playing, trying to get back into the groove of the sport. Happy to report no one was injured by accident or intentionally. I think we both played decently well considering we haven’t played for a very long time. My dad is much better than I am as he used to play in college. We didn’t keep score while we played, so there wasn’t a winner. We just took turns serving, hitting the ball back and forth. We are going to try and get in another match before I head back to New York.
While we were playing tennis, two of my guy friends from High School just so happen to also be there playing at the court right next to us. It was so lovely to see them and catch up! It felt great to socialize with people outside of my family. Since being home I haven’t seen any of my friends, which we understandably shouldn’t be getting together. It’s the only thing I am sad about and regret during my time here in Columbus. I wish I could have seen my friends at least once. I guess I will have to wait until the holidays to see them…..hopefully.
This weekend is my last weekend here in Columbus. Tonight I am getting together with my sister and cousin to eat pizza and watch Harry Potter. The three of us haven’t hung out alone in a long time, so I am very excited for tonight! My sister is pregnant again– another girl!! I am SO SO SO excited for my new niece to arrive in the fall. Other than the Harry Potter marathon, this weekend we will of course be celebrating Father’s Day. Since my family is personally still not going out to restaurants, we will be celebrating Father’s Day at home. I am sure my dad and I will go on a long bike ride. I know he wants to order in brunch from a local restaurant. I am sure we will be having steaks for dinner and s’mores for dessert. Oh and most likely a John Wayne movie marathon because my dad loves him and his movies. Other than Father’s Day this weekend will be about spending time together, packing for New York, and relaxing.
Have a wonderful weekend and do not forget to wear your mask xo
