“Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying.”

-Romans 12:12

Happy Friday!! It’s been a rainy week here in New York. Spent most of the week cooped up inside longingly looking outside wishing for sunshine. Normally I do not mind a rainy day or two, but this week I wanted to feel fresh air on my skin and the sun on my face.

I was supposed to have a photoshoot earlier this week but it was canceled twice due to the rain. Ah, the joys of living in New York, relying on the weather for your business. Luckily I was able to reschedule for this coming Monday so I am not completely behind schedule. I can’t complain too much, it gave me ample time to clean my apartment, read my new book, and work out. On Tuesday I woke up feeling extremely fatigued. I had little to no energy. I could barely stay awake– even though I had a decent night’s sleep. I think my body was just rundown. This has been a stressful year for all of us, and even though I am not doing as much as I normally would, stress does take a toll on the body. It was a saving grace my photoshoot was canceled allowing me to take a nap. It helped a little but still felt groggy the rest day. Luckily by Wednesday I felt better and took a long walk around the city.

Besides the rain and feeling out of sorts, it was a great week otherwise. I mean The Bachelorette is back!! We waited a very long time for this and now we get to see all of the drama unfold. I know Clare’s season is cut short, and we all know why, but I do enjoy watching her fall for Dale. When Clare said she immediately knew Dale was her husband the moment he stepped out of the limo, the hopeless romantic in me was beaming!! However the season ends, I hope Clare found love and is happy. Love or hate Clare, you have to admire her. She seems to not take any BS, knows what she wants, and is confident in who she is. Clare, being a 39yr old, still looking for love, never settled for anyone, all the while seeing everyone around her get married and start a family is something I can truly relate to. I am in my 30’s and one of the last of my friends to get married. I’ve never once thought that something was wrong with me, and more that God was saving me for someone really special. That I had a life to live, lessons to learn before it was my time to find love. I am truly happy with my life and where it is going, and having a partner to share my life with is the icing on the cake. So I can relate to Clare and love seeing her go after what she wants– even if it means she cuts filming short only after 12 days.

What I am watching: Besides The Bachelorette, I started watching The Haunting of Bly Manor on Netflix. I have a few episodes left that I am saving to watch tonight. I am not much of a horror genre kind of person, but ’tis the season. I have to say that The Haunting of Bly Manor isn’t as scary as The Haunting of Hill House; that gave me nightmares for weeks. I do, however, find the storyline to be interesting. What’s with the back and forth with the dreaming? Are they all dead? How is this going to end with no more ghosts? I guess I will find out tonight! As mentioned this isn’t (so far) that scary of a horror series. There are moments of surprise that cause you to jump back, but not that often. It’s more of a spooky story than a bump-in- the-night-can’t-sleep-for-days type of show.

What I bought: Each fall season I look for cute sweater dresses. Either the dress is too big and looks awful on me or it’s too tight and that is not the style I want. I found one last year from J.Crew that I loved but unfortunately, with only wearing it twice, it ripped. I decided to get a new sweater dress and bought this one yesterday in oatmeal. I haven’t received it yet, so can not comment on fit. The website does say to size down so I bought an x-small. I am hoping that it’s not too short and it’s perfectly loosely fitted.

This weekend I have nothing planned except enjoying the fall weather. After the rainy week we had, I just want to be outside enjoying the city.

Have a wonderful weekend xo
