After a year of wearing athleisure and sweats, it’s no wonder my favorite outfits of 2020 are dressier. Outfits that are mostly worn for a special occasion or a night out, instead of an everyday style. Some items were worn pre-pandemic, and others were bought in hopes for better days. That someday I will be able to wear them to a party. Here are my top favorite outfits of 2020.
If there is one style I love the most it would be a floral dress. It’s always my most coveting item for the spring and summer season. This floral dress from Reformation is currently my favorite dress at the moment. I can not wait to wear it all of the time this coming spring and summer. Fingers crossed! It’s a great dress to wear on a date, out with friends, a bridal shower, or to an event.
If there ever was a dress that makes you feel sophisticated, chic, and sexy at the same time it is this silk wrap dress from Zimmermann. The blue coloring of this dress is stunning. It’s a great dress to wear to special occasions, events, dates, and weddings.
Now that we have been living in quarantine for a year, many of us have fancy pajamas to lounge in. These feather-trimmed pajamas from Sleeper are dreamy. They make me feel as if I were some heiress in a mansion waiting for Slim Aarons to photograph my leisure life.
Florals are not just for spring and summer, it can be worn during the colder seasons as well. This floral dress from Rebecca Taylor is one that will make me smile every time I put it on. I love the pop of lavender and green against the dark black. The tier skirt and ruffle sleeves elevate the dress a little more. Dark florals are a big trend and one that I am all for
This outfit is a more recent one, hence the Christmas decor. What I love about this outfit is that it works perfectly together for the holidays and even outside the holiday season, and each piece works separately. I have worn this Vince slip skirt numerous times with different tops; turtlenecks, blouses, sweaters. This ruffle black blouse from Sézane is a new purchase. Now that the holidays are over, I am hoping to wear it with jeans or black jeans out and about.
I am a big fan of the feminine, romantic brand LoveShackFancy. This is a dress I wore from Rent The Runway and will definitely be renting it again. It’s a cute dress to have for the summer season. I do not have that many yellow dresses, so this was perfect for a warm summer day. Wear it to a baby or bridal shower, out with friends, or on vacation.
File this dress under “outfits I love that I didn’t get to wear this year”. This blue maze print dress from Tanya Taylor I simply adore. I even made it my profile picture for my Instagram page. I love that it flares a little at the bottom, has a bow in the back, and the puffy sleeves give it an extra detail. There is a lot going on, but it seamlessly works together. I would normally say this is a dress for a special occasion, but I saw a girl wear it with sneakers walking around the West Village over the summer…… wear what you like!
