Happy Friday! Just in time for the weekend the CDC announced that those of us who have been vaccinated no longer need to wear a mask!! I am so thrilled about this as many of you are as well. I know there is a lot of hesitation and fear surrounding the no mask policy, and no we do not know what the future holds, but I think it’s time for us to move forward. Also, continue to do what makes you feel safe. For a while I am going to continue to wear a mask indoors (especially establishments that require them), but outside it is coming off. Wearing a mask during 90 degree summer days is truly miserable. I am over joyed about the new guidelines; I am ready to mingle and be around people again!

To be honest I am mostly excited to not wear a mask while working out. I have yet to go back to a fitness studio because I refuse to wear a mask while sweating. It just feels gross to me. I am still doing at-home workouts, and will continue to do so. However, I am itching to get back to DanceBody. Hopefully by the time they start their summer quarter dances I will be back in the studio high-kicking and grooving to the music.

It’s hard to top the excitement of the new no mask announcement, but I did get my hair done this past week so things are continuously looking up for me. Really serendipitous if you ask me. It’s as if the CDC knew I was going to look good again. I got a partial highlights, just in time for summer. I also stopped by Sézane yesterday to exchange sizes. I recently got these shorts in cream (currently sold out but comes in other colors and prints). Anyway, the size 2 fit me but was slightly snug and a little too short. Apparently I am now at the age where I no longer want to wear skirts or shorts that are scandalously too short. I went to the l’appartement in Nolita to compare the size 4 to the size 2. I was there for probably longer than I should have– I couldn’t decide. Finally I made the decision to go with the size 4 as the sales associate told me the cream color runs small and does not stretch. That was my concern; if I got the size 4 they would stretch and be loose or I stayed with the size 2 it would stretch and feel more comfortable. As thrilling as this was to read, if you are looking to purchase these shorts I say go with your regular size– the sales associate told me the other colors and prints are true to size, but if the cream color comes back in stock go up a size.

Did you have a lovely Mother’s Day? I unfortunately was not with my mom to celebrate the day, but we did chat like we normally do on the phone. Luckily she wasn’t alone as she spent the day with my sister, my nieces, my grandmother, and my dad. Overall I think she had a nice Mother’s Day. She kept saying she didn’t want anything, and I couldn’t think of anything that she didn’t already have or need, so I got her a GC to Starbucks. She was pretty happy about it, ha. This past week was also my parent’s 42nd wedding anniversary. 42 years! Wow! My parents have always been a great example of what love, respect, and friendship is and means. I know I am bias but they really are a great couple. They work so well together and are the best of friends. I pray to God that I am lucky enough to have what they have and spend 42+ years with someone.

What I am watching: High School Musical The Series! I started watching it by accident. I was flipping through channels last Sunday trying to find something to watch when I got a text message. I diverted my attention to my phone and just so happen to land on the Disney channel and HSMS was on. After I finished conversing on my phone I drew my attention back to the TV and next thing I know I was sucked into them singing songs from the movie. It happened to be the last episode of the season which is when they put on the musical play for the school. To my surprised I really enjoyed it and realized it was a lot better than I originally thought it would be. I figured it would be what I consider “Disney acting”– where the actors over-exaggerate everything / overact. I find it to be completely annoying. Disney has had this type of acting for a very long time, maybe they still do, but I found that HSMS is not like that. Anyway, I decided to go on my Disney+ app and start the series from the beginning. And it seems it was perfect timing as season 2 is released today and Zac Efron announced he is all for making a cameo in the show.

If you are looking for a more adult show I still highly recommend Mare of Easttown! Also this weekend I will be starting the Halston series on Netflix!! I can’t wait!

What I bought: On a whim I bought Keds in a light blue color. I have always been fan of Keds and usually wear the white canvas color. Although the last few years I have switched them out for white Tretorn sneakers. Anyway, I stumbled upon these light blue Keds and instantly knew I had to have them. I’ve been wanting a different color everyday sneaker to wear for a few years now. They are going to look cute with my white casual dresses. Excited to run around the city in them this summer.

This weekend I have nothing on the agenda except to enjoy the gorgeous weather we’ll be having. I am torn between going to the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens or scouting locations for my upcoming shoot. I am sure scouting will win. I’ll take a leisure stroll through different areas of Manhattan to see if the location is right for my outfits / make sure there isn’t construction. I will also go on my weekend run(s) along the west side highway. I’ve been really enjoying being outside running. Last weekend two adult geese and baby geese crossed my path. I first saw them at a part where the road is narrow and blocked off on both sides. I stopped running and tried to slowly walk around them, when one of the adult geese started to hiss at me. I jumped back into the barrier and now have a bruise on my leg. Geese are mean by the way. Being attacked by one would not be pleasant. I saw them again a few days ago along the path but at a different location, and far enough away that I wasn’t in danger. Forget COVID we have wild geese out there to worry about.

Besides spending the weekend enjoying the sunshine and avoiding geese, Sunday night I will be watching the MCC Theater’s annual Miscast gala. Among the performers will be Idina Menzel, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Aaron Tveit, Annaleigh Ashford, Cheyenne Jackson, Billy Porter… to name a few. I am pretty excited for the gala and a night filled with Broadway music!!

Have a wonderful weekend xo
