There are many collaborations that have gotten me excited over the years. High-end designers doing capsule pieces for affordable brands. Bloggers using their creative juices to pitch in on design concepts. However, right now there is a new wave of collaborations that are trending; home brands are crossing over into shoe design. Using their years of textile experience, home brands are making their mark with cult favorite shoe designers.

When I heard the textile heritage brand Schumacher teamed up with beloved Margaux for a 5 shoe collection for the summer, I was excited! Schumacher, for a little background history, was founded in 1889 by Frederic Schumacher in New York City. Their fabrics have been in iconic establishments like the Waldorf- Astoria hotel, the White House, Met Opera House, Radio City Music Hall, and was the wallpaper in Gone With The Wind….just to name a few. This isn’t their first time emerging with fashion designers as they worked with Schiaparelli in creating floral prints for her couture line in the 50s. Oh and one of their first decorators was the legendary Elsie de Wolfe. As you can see Schumacher has been around for many years and has had some historic collaborations. But with all of their notable marks in history, they have never collaborated with a shoe company until now.

Margaux was founded in 2015 by Alexa Buckley and Sarah Pierson. Their brand is unique in footwear as their shoes come in a larger variety of sizes and extended width length. Creating a shoe that fits your feet perfectly. Their comfortable shoes range from casual everyday wear like slippers, mules, ballet flats, espadrilles to upscale sandals, pumps, and boots. The collection with Schumacher consists of 5 different style shoes for the summer. The best selling Margaux shoes in Schumacher colorful patterns. I have my eye on these bow mules. This collection is limited for just the summer, but I have a feeling this will not be the last from this dream team.
