Happy Friday and happy Pride weekend! Summer has officially started and I am excited for a season of sunshine and friends. Things are back to normal, at least getting there, here in New York. The energy of the city right now is contagious! I know everyone summers either in the Hamptons or Nantucket, myself included, but I have always loved the city in the summer. There is so much happening, so many wonderful little things to enjoy. I am excited for what the summer will bring.

Last weekend I had dinner with Emily at Loulou in Chelsea. Emily is visiting for a short layover before she heads off to Italy for vacation. It was my first time dining at Loulou and it definitely will not be my last. The food is amazing! I had the petit poulet roti and Emily had the cavatelli. I am gluten free and Emily is a vegetarian, there were plenty of options for the two of us. We sat outside which is beautifully decorated with florals and lights. It was so nice to catch up on life and to be out in the city.

The rest of my week wasn’t as thrilling as last week or the weekend. It was more about my to-do list than anything else. I am heading to Columbus next Friday for the 4th of July and to celebrate my cousin’s 40th birthday. I made a list of things I need to get done before I head home. It’s funny how knowing you are going to be gone for a week will light a fire in you to get things done. Otherwise I would probably be more relaxed with my list, instead of trying to get as much done as possible in one day– even though I have an entire week. I am going to feel quite accomplished once I check off my entire list… then make a new one because I am a virgo.

Did you catch Marta Scarampi on IG live? I believe I have mentioned this before, but I am now a brand ambassador for Marta Scarampi. A classic, feminine clothing brand from Italy that believes in slow fashion– meaning they buy fabric based on needs, so there isn’t waste. It takes about 2 weeks for them to create your item. Once you place an order they buy the fabric that they need from the mill and create it from scratch. This way there isn’t extra fabric at the end of the season to be thrown away in landfills. The IG live took place at their showroom in Torino, which was lovely to see. Marta, herself, took Tricia, who is their social media manager, around the showroom and discussed their process of designing and creating the garments. It was really fascinating and enjoyable. If you would like to shop Marta Scarampi– take 10% off any dress with code BLUSHANDBLOOMS-MS.

Have you been following along with the Britney Spears trial? I listened to her entire testimony yesterday and it was truly shocking and heartbreaking. First of all she is of sound mind, unlike her Instagram voice. I loved that she stood up for herself, clapped back, and demanded what she wanted. It was actually empowering to listen to. It’s so sad what her father, doctors, and others surrounding her are doing to her. It’s not right and they should all be in jail. #freebritney

What I am watching: I started watching Physical on Apple TV. I am only on episode 2. I have to be honest I am hesitant in continue on. I think it’s a good show, it’s well done. Rose Byrne does an amazing job. I love the ’80s vibe and the focus being on aerobics culture. I was so excited for the show because of this. However, it’s also very triggering. Rose Byrne’s character has an eating disorder. You also hear her inner dialogue throughout the show and it’s extremely self deprecating. There were so many moments that were very hard for me to get through. As someone who has struggled with body image, it was very hard for me. I am at the stage of my life where I am healthy in mind and body, and do not want to watch something that I worked so hard to get past. I have read comments on Twitter from people who also have an eating disorder, current or past, and they say they love it. That it makes them feel seen. So if you have had or currently have ED, or any body image issues or self-negative talk, I would watch with caution. I may give it another episode to see if she moves past ED, because again I really love the throwback ’80s culture and the aerobics.

Last weekend I watched In The Heights. As of now you can watch it for free on HBO Max. I really enjoyed the movie! I thought the choreography was impeccable and very creative. It was fun to watch with great music, as well a moments of laughter and tears. It was well done. Highly recommend watching it!

What I bought: I decided I needed a one-piece swimsuit. I ended up buying this one with the tie-shoulder and this floral one. I’ll end up returning one of them, but wanted two to decide between. As much as I love the tie-shoulder one-piece, it does have a deep v-neck and my concern is with it not covering my chest. I am thinking the floral one will be the winner, but we will see. I bought both in a size 4. I also caved and bought this floral cottage dress. I already have it in pink (on sale!), but could not stop thinking about the pretty floral print. I bought an x-small.

This weekend I have nothing planned but to enjoy the city. Maybe grab drinks with friends. I do need to get a new book and will definitely be going on a run or two. Perhaps I will lay out and enjoy the sunshine in the park.

Have a wonderful weekend xo
