When you think of quintessential handbags for the summer, rattan and wicker usually come to mind. They are the handbags you take on vacation or out for a summer drink. Chic and versatile. Growing up my grandmother would carry a wicker bag during the summer season. It would make a little noise that sounded like birds– which she would tell us that there were in fact little birdies living in there. But besides the joy of pretending to carry around chickadees, I was always eyeing her wicker bag. Now as an adult I have a few rattan and wicker bags that I carry around with me: a clutch from J.Mclaughlin I got a few years ago (similar), the classic Cult Gaia ark bag, and this small medallion tote I take with me while running errands. I would love to add another rattan bag or two to my collection. Perhaps another clutch or a top handle bag. I like the idea of having a crossbody bag as well.
