If you have been around this part of the internet for a while, then you know I am a lover of dresses. I always have been since I was a little kid. But every once in a while I do put on pants. Whether I am frolicking around the city, shopping in the Hamptons, or spending the afternoon at the park, I’ll throw on a pair of shorts for a casual look.

A few weeks ago I spent the afternoon in Bryant Park. It was the one area in Manhattan I haven’t been to since before the pandemic. In fact I think it’s been 2 years since I graced the beloved park. I was happy to see it buzzing with people lunching at Bryant Park Grill, laying out on the green, kids riding the carousel, co-workers catching up, and others leisurely listening to the pianist. It put a smile on my face to see life back to normal. To see people, the city, happy again. For such a casual day I wore these high-rise shorts and a floral blouse to linger around. I sat and listened to the pianist for a while. I wanted to ride the carousel but it was busy– and no I do not have any shame riding a carousel childless at the age of *cough*…..
For such an occasion wearing high-rise shorts with a blouse was the perfect summer look. An easy, yet elevated everyday style to throw on. I dressed it down with a pair of white sneakers, but could easily throw on a pair of heels and head out for the night. This blouse works well with jeans for an out on the town look, with nice trousers to wear to work, or a simple skirt to wear to bridal showers or baby showers. These shorts can be paired with anything from sweaters to tank tops depending on the occasion. These high-rise shorts run small so size up — but only in the cream color, the other prints and colors run true to size.
