“Nothing in this world is true or false except for the story you make up around it”

-Emryald Sinclaire

Happy Friday! There is something about the summer that makes me happy- no matter what is going on in my life. Maybe it’s the sunshine on my face and the fresh air all around me. Perhaps it’s the freedom of being outdoors, roaming around in nature (even the little we have here in the city). Summer has and will always be my favorite season. Nothing puts a smile on my face, a pep in my step, like wearing a floral dress or being poolside on a sunny summer day. It’s the happy days of summer.

Have you ever had a feeling that something wonderful is about to happen– that something you wish for is right around the corner? That is how I’ve been feeling. What it is? I don’t know. Perhaps it’s a new love, a boost in my career, an unexpected trip, or something that only God can imagine and create. Whatever it is I am ready for it. I can’t shake the feeling that life has a pleasant unexpected surprise for me that’s coming soon. I love when I get these feelings. It’s like everything is magical, even the mundane.

Yesterday I went to the Never Have I Ever Season 2 premiere kick off event. To be honest it was a little disappointing. I have to hand it to the PR because they did an amazing job pitching the event to us and hyping it up. They made it seem like it was this huge activation, lots of surprises, and a chance to meet the cast. All it was in reality was a truck where you could take a photo and get free merchandise. I skipped out on the merchandise. I hate complaining about events because I know how incredibly lucky I am to be invited. It just wasn’t worth the time, it was a let down. But on the bright side I did run into two of my blogging friends Melanie and Tineey. And for that I am very grateful I was there! It was so nice to chat and catch up.

My newsletter is finally in development!! I received the first draft of it earlier this week and I am loving what Chloe Digital has created so far. I am so very excited to launch my newsletter soon! Don’t forget to sign up to receive exclusive content and shopping items from me. You can sign up here.

What I am watching: To prepare for the event yesterday I binged watched the first season of Never Have I Ever . My cousin kept telling me to watch it and when I received the invite I felt it was a sign to do so. It is a really cute show! I love all of the characters and can’t wait to watch season 2. It’s definitely a show for Gen Z, since it is about high schoolers. However, I am a sucker for teen shows and teen drama. It’s a must watch!

I also started to watch a show, non-suitable for teenagers, on Netflix called Sex/Life. When I was home for the 4th one of my friends suggested to watch it, saying how good it was. It’s a little like Fifty Shades of Grey without the BDSM. However, the sex scenes are still pretty steamy. I am almost done with the first season. It is good but it also has many factors that I do not like. I can’t stand Billie in general. In the beginning I had sympathy for her– she felt neglected and lonely. I can also relate to reminiscing about your youth running wild in the city, the freedom of being young and the world feels like this huge opportunity. I get nostalgic for my 20’s, even my teenage years, but doesn’t mean I am desperate to go back to it. And I still live in the city, not in the suburbs. I was also never as wild as Billie and Sasha. But as the episodes go on I lost respect for Billie. Everything is a choice. No one is forcing her to talk to Brad but herself. I do not feel bad for her at all. I also do not understand why she keeps writing in her journal knowing that Cooper reads it. Makes absolutely no sense to me. Still it’s a good show and worth watching…. especially for the intimacy.

What I bought: This week I mostly bought things of need than want. I ran out of my favorite matcha powder that I use at home on days I do not go to Starbucks. I also bought a new book that I am excited to start reading. The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale opens up for me today. I am going to take a look around to see what is still left and what is new. I am mostly going to shop skincare products and activewear. Speaking of skincare I bought this vitamin c serum from Sdara Skincare. I bought their derma roller a few weeks ago because I have a few sunspots I am trying to get rid of. From the reviews it works better with the serum. The serum that I currently use does not have vitamin c in it, and that is an important ingredient to get rid of sunspots. I decided to give it a try– it’s only $15 and the reviews are pretty positive. We will see….fingers cross!

This weekend I have nothing planned except my first in-studio workout!! I will be dancing once again with DanceBody this weekend at their Tribeca studio. I am so excited, yet also very nervous. I am not nervous about being in the studio, I am nervous about not having the stamina to dance for an hour. I know I will be fine and will have fun. The 3rd quarter dances started last week, so everyone will pretty much be on the same page where we do not know the dances. I am still signed up for their online classes, so may purchase a break-down video of one or two of the new dances so I am not completely lost tomorrow. It really feels like the first day of school! Besides dancing my way back to life, I have nothing else going on. I will wander around the city aimlessly like I always do. May call up a friend to grab drinks. The weekend is open to many possibilities.

Have a wonderful weekend xo
