Happy Friday! It’s finally starting to feel like fall here in New York. I’ve been running around the city wearing my new half-zip pullover and enjoying the cooler temperature. This week was a busy one and I definitely felt the effects of Mercury in retrograde.

Usually when Mercury is in retrograde I do not feel anything abnormal. And honestly I don’t fully understand it, but perhaps this one is affecting me because my rising sign is a Libra– and we are in Libra season, just a shot in the dark thought. Anyway, nothing too crazy happened, mostly every electronic that I own wasn’t working properly and miscommunications of scheduling / logistics were happening. There was a mixup with my doctors appointment this past Monday, which we resolved and I went yesterday morning. The rain caused me to stop shooting with my photographer. My AirPods kept dying, even after being charged. It was little things like that that started my week on a stressful note. Luckily things settled down and everything worked out in the end.

My week wasn’t all malfunctions and miscommunications, it was still pleasurable. Last weekend I went down to South Street Seaport to visit the new The Times of Bill Cunningham Exhibit. For those who may not know who Bill Cunningham is, he was a beloved, famous fashion photographer who worked for the New York Times from the 70’s until his ultimate passing in 2016. He is well known for his candid photos of people in New York. I enjoyed the exhibition however I was still disappointed in it. Everything was digital; meaning his photographs were all on screens in a collage and not physically there. I was hoping to see the photos in person. They did run a few interviews he has done in the past which were enjoyable to watch. I learned things about Bill Cunningham that I did not know prior— like how he owned over 50 bicycles, mostly because a bike was stolen once a year. How he got his start in making hats. Why he chose certain people to photograph, not caring who the person was, but what they wore interested him more. Still, I wanted to leisurely walk from photo to photo.

After 10 months I have finally found a new hair colorist!! The person I have been going to for 4 years moved during the heart of the pandemic, leaving me panicking to find someone new. A friend of mine suggested someone from Bumble and Bumble. I use Bumble and Bumble shampoo and conditioner (also use this and this) everyday, so I was already a fan. I tried to make an appointment with this colorist, but she was booked until the end of November. I ended up doing some research on their employees– and by that I mean I looked up their IG accounts. I searched until I found a colorist who did blonde hair the way I like it. Once I found Kara, I booked with her. I had my appointment this past Wednesday and absolutely love my coloring! It is really scary to be a blonde in New York, trying to find someone who gives you the exact color you want. I have had brown mousey hair, orange hair, bleach blonde hair. It can be a disaster. Every blonde in the city knows it’s a process to find the right colorist. Luckily I finally found Kara and will be sticking with her!!

What I am watching: I finished Nine Perfect Strangers and absolutely loved it! I thought all of the actors did an incredible job. The plot line was so good and kept you wanting more. Even the subplots of each individual character were interesting. I am also a fan of Nicole Kidman, I think she is an amazing actress and proves it once again. Highly recommend.

Another show that has been buzzing lately is White Lotus. I started watching it this week– finished episode 3 last night. I have to be honest and say that it does not live up to its hype. I had high hopes for it because I love so many of the actors; Jennifer Coolidge, Connie Britton, Steve Zahn. I am not saying it’s awful, I will continue to watch– mostly because I want to know what happens. They show you a little teaser in the beginning of what happens at the end, but do not give the full detail. Wanting to know what and how this happens is keeping me going. Again, I don’t hate the show or anything. I like it, just do not think it’s the greatest show like people are raving about. I am hoping as I go on that it may get better. We will see.

Did you watch the Tony Awards?! I love the Tony Awards, it is a dream of mine to attend someday. Not as a nominee but as an attendee. They did things a little differently this year and I was not a fan. They did the awards ceremony for 2 hours online only– you could only watch through Paramount website. Then they had a two hour special Broadway is Back on CBS. They had a few performances during the awards ceremony which I would have liked to have seen. However, I did really enjoy the special that aired. I have seen both Moulin Rouge and Tina the Musical on Broadway and absolutely loved! I knew Moulin Rouge was going to win best musical. It is all around amazing. I have yet to see Jagged Little Pill, which was also nominated for best musical. I was suppose to see it but covid hit and Broadway shut down. Both Aaron Tveit (Moulin Rouge) and Adrienne Warren (Tina) deserve best actor/ best actress award. They were phenomenal!! My favorite part of the entire special was the end when Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth reunited to sing “For Good” from Wicked— both a part of the original cast. Followed by Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp reunited to sing “What You Own” from Rent. I may have gotten a little teary-eyed through all of this. It was so good!

What I bought: I did not buy anything new this week but still browsing through Nicola Bathie x Anontio Melani collection. So many great holiday attire to shop. I also have my eye on this midi sweater dress that is under $100.

This weekend I am heading to New Jersey for the Ohio State vs. Rutgers game. Two of my cousin’s work for Rutgers University, so it’s going to be a family affair. My parents, as well as my aunt and uncle, are driving over from Ohio for the weekend to also attend the game. I am leaving later this afternoon to head over to New Jersey. Should be a fun weekend! I am excited to see my family; spending time with them and cheering on the Buckeyes. Go Buckeyes!!

Have a wonderful weekend xo
