Happy Friday! And happy Taylor Swift Red (Taylor’s Version) release day to those who celebrate! I’ve been listening to the album and enjoying it, but am counting down to when she releases the 10 minute video for “All Too Well.” It’s going to be a masterpiece.
Besides Taylor giving us another reason to live, this past week has been a good one. I went uptown to the Upper East Side to shoot a few looks. I haven’t been to the UES in a while, so it was nice to frolic around and see what is new. The leaves are starting to change in Central Park. It’s beautiful to walk around right now; the ideal fall foliage to cast a dreamy, cozy atmosphere. I am surprised the leaves changed so late in the season, but feel this coming week will be at its peak. That is if this wind doesn’t knock them all down.
Last night I met up with Stephanie, from A Life Well Saved, at Little Branch in West Village. Little Branch is this cute cocktail speakeasy that is in the basement of a nondescript building. Outside looks like a typical rundown NYC building with graffiti all over. You walk down what looks like a side door into the basement to a cocktail bar that usually has a live jazz band playing. Little Branch makes for a great one-on-one conversation with friends, and especially a great spot for date night. Anyway, this was my first time meeting Stephanie; as she is a new blogger. We’ve been following each other for a while and decided it was time to meet in person. We really hit it off and had a lot of fun getting to know each other. It’s always nice to make new friends! One thing they do not tell you about NYC is that you constantly have to make new friends because people are always leaving the city. This is my current situation as a lot of my friends left during 2020. You really have to be proactive about making friends here. Anyway, it was so nice to meet Stephanie and I highly suggest following her on IG. I love her style (similar to mine) and she is really sweet.
What I am watching: I again haven’t started a new series. I’ve been trying to catch up on shows that I am behind on like Succession. I missed last week’s because I instead watched the FBI looking for Jen Shah during RHOSLC. It was an epic episode and worth missing Succession for. I can not wait until this coming episode Sunday night. Andy Cohen says it’s one of the top 5 best Real Housewives episodes ever.
If you are looking for a cute, feel good movie, I watched Raya and the Last Dragon. It’s one of my 4 year old niece’s favorite movies. She was Raya for Halloween. I wanted to watch it so the two of us can chat about it when I am home for Thanksgiving. We talked about it a little bit on the phone the other day, but I am sure we will discuss more of the movie when I am with her on Thanksgiving. It’s a cute movie but I thought it was so strange there wasn’t any music. It’s a Disney movie after all! I do not think I have ever seen a Disney cartoon movie without music; without songs to sing-along to. Very strange in my opinion.
What I bought: I’ve been buying Christmas presents for my nieces. With the supply chain issue I want to make sure to get their gifts early so they have something to open up on Christmas morning. I still have more shopping to do for them, but I at least have something. I also have my niece’s 1st birthday to shop for. I got her this photo frame, which is really more of a gift for her parents. I’ll probably end up buying her clothes as well. I also bought a new book, for myself, to dive into. Excited to start reading it today. The last thing I bought this past week is the Sunday Riley’s 5 Star Eye Serum. It’s been the rage all over TikTok recently and wanted to give it a try. People have been saying they noticed results within two weeks– lessen dark circles under eyes and less wrinkles. I will give a review of it in a few weeks.
This weekend I was invited to the Big Apple Circus. This is my second time attending and I am looking forward to seeing the show. Other than a fun evening at the circus, I will be enjoying a cozy rainy fall weekend. Hopefully I will get a chance to stroll around the city a little.
Have a wonderful weekend xo
