Happy Friday and happy early Martin Luther King day! Are you going anywhere for the 3-day weekend? I am staying in the city. To be honest, MLK day snuck up on me. I didn’t prepare for a fun-filled weekend, jet-setting some place warm. And no ski trip for me either, just enjoying life here in the city.
I’ve had another productive week of tackling things that need to get done. Sounds silly, but I am proud of myself for how much I have accomplished in these past 2 weeks. Last weekend I went through my closet and starting purging and organizing. This is going to take longer than I expected. I have only tackled my clothes and still need to go through my shoes, handbags, knick-knacks, and makeup. I took 3 bags to Goodwill, sent clothes to Thredup, and am selling items on Poshmark, eBay, and The RealReal. I am still adding items as we speak.
My week wasn’t all Marie Kondo-ing. Last weekend I met up with Emily for brunch at Maman on King St. It was so nice to catch up. We haven’t seen each other since pre-pandemic days. You can imagine we had a lot to talk about. One of my goals, more of an intention really, is to socialize more. Meet up with friends I haven’t seen in a long time. I am not really looking to go clubbing until 4am or even go out to bars, more like happy hour drinks, brunches, coffee chats, workouts, etc. Getting myself back out there; socializing with friends and going on dates. I feel the pandemic has made me a homebody. And as much as I do not mind being at home, I also love to socialize. I am what you call an ambivert, and the extrovert side of me needs satisfying.
I sent out my first ever newsletter!!! I have been talking about this newsletter for probably a year now. I have had it ready to go since the fall, but kept putting it off. It’s one of the items that I had on my must-do list that I wanted to tackle early this year. My goal is to send out bi-monthly newsletters. Thank you to those that have signed up– and thank you for your patience!! If you would like to receive my newsletter please sign up here.
What I am watching: I started the second season of The Morning Show. I am only on episode 3 but so far I am enjoying it. I think it may be better than the first season. I like most, if not all of you, love Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon and will watch anything they are in. Especially together!
Last Sunday I watched Spencer. I have mixed feelings about it. A part of me thinks it’s good and the other part of me thought it was ridiculous. Of course it is a fabricated story of the true events. We all know what was happening to Diana and Charles marriage, however we don’t know conversations behind closed doors. We also do not know Diana’s inner monologue. There were a few things that happened (which I will not spoil) that I found to be ridiculous and so far fetched. I also was disappointed in how they had Diana speak to some of the house staff. I always thought of her, or known her to be very kind to the staff. But who am I to know the truth of that. I feel they made Diana seem pathetic and a little crazy, which I wasn’t a fan of. However, I LOVED the fashion and love anything Royal family. It was also interesting to see some of the scenes of the Royal Family Christmas traditions. I also loved Diana’s scenes with the boys. The most ludicrous scene was Charles acting like he is some macho hunter. We all watched The Crown, and know he isn’t athletic. Although I have mixed emotions on the movie, I still suggest watching it.
What I bought: I had to exchange my Arissa flats. I originally bought the flats in my normal size, 7.5. However they were a little too big. I decided to buy them in size 7 to compare and ending up keeping the smaller size. So if you are looking to purchase these flats, go down half a size. I also bought this pretty pink turtleneck sweater that is currently on sale!
This weekend, as mentioned, I have nothing special planned. I will be organizing and purging more of my closet. I am going to DanceBody to try and master the new dances. I am finally getting my booster shot! And I will be frolicking around the city. Perhaps I will meet up with a friend or two for drinks or brunch.
Have a wonderful weekend xo
