Happy Friday! If I could sum up this week in one word it would be laziness. I was lazy and didn’t want to do anything. Maybe I was too productive in the beginning of the year and needed a break. Last Sunday and Monday I spent the entire day on the couch binge watching shows. I can’t remember the last time I just sat on the couch all day long. I didn’t even do that during lockdown. I guess my body and mind needed the rest and recharge. Of course I still went for little walks, so I wasn’t a complete bum. But overall I was lazy.Since I was so lazy this past week I didn’t tackle any of my closet cleanup project. I haven’t touched my shoes or my handbags yet, and still need to add items to Poshmark, eBay, and The RealReal. Hopefully will get back to it this weekend and next.

Besides being lazy, I still accomplished a lot this past week. I finally got my booster shot!! I tried getting it before the holidays, but everything was booked. The closest appointment time I could find was this past Monday. So I booked it and waited a month. I thought I was going to feel something, since everyone was saying how the shot knocked them out. However, I was completely fine. I didn’t feel anything for all 3 shots. In fact my 2nd shot I felt amazing. I was full of energy. For my booster I only had a sore arm, that was it. Anyway, I am happy to have gotten the vaccine and am ready for life to get back to normal, or at least move forward.

Last night I went to see the new MJ the Musical at the Neil Simon Theatre. It premiered early December and I hope it continues on Broadway for a while. Also hoping they receive a few Tony Awards. The show is SO much fun! Obviously the music is great because it is Michael Jackson. On top of that the singing, acting, and dancing was amazing. Myles Frost did a phenomenal job as Michael Jackson. From his mannerisms, to his voice, and his dance moves, he really emulated Michael. The story is based off of the documentary MTV did of Michael’s Dangerous Tour back in ’92. It goes through his life growing up as part of the The Jackson 5, and his breakaway albums like Thriller and Off The Wall, leading up to the current tour. The show is so enjoyable and fun, I highly recommend going!

The show brought back so much nostalgia. My family and I are huge Michael Jackson fans. Growing up, during our spring breaks, we would drive down to Georgia where my cousins lived and listen to MJ the entire way there. We love(d) Michael. Watching Michael’s life and remembering things that had happened to him and the Dangerous Tour, brought back so many memories. I wish I had seen him in concert when I had the chance. We were suppose to see him on tour, but unfortunately he passed. He is the one artist I will always regret not seeing live in concert.

What I am watching: Cheer is back!! Last weekend when I was being one with the couch, I binged watched the entire 2nd season of Cheer. It did not disappoint! It was so good; still thrilling and much more personal. This time they brought in Navarro’s rivals, Trinity Valley Community College. It was all very Bring It On and I loved every second of it. I hope they make a 3rd season.

Last Sunday evening I watched the new Disney movie Encanto. I thought it was very cute. My niece really likes it, so now I chat with her about the characters and songs. I love how the house is magical and each person has their own special powers. I also liked how there isn’t a villain except themselves. I can see what all of the hype is about and why so many people love the movie.

What I bought: I bought this slip dress in black for no apparent reason. It’s a dress you can wear casually with sneakers for an everyday look or with pumps for an evening out.  It’s a great go-to dress that is simple and can work for any occasion. Makes for a great Valentine’s Day dress as well. Speaking of Valentine’s Day: in case you missed yesterday’s Valentine’s Day outfit guide- click here for more ideas.

This weekend I am heading to the Brooklyn Museum for their Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams Exhibition. I’ve been wanting to see the exhibition for a while, so am very excited to finally get a chance to. I can’t wait to look at all of the beautiful garments from the House of Dior. It is going to be very inspiring and beautiful. Also this weekend I am meeting up with a friend of mine for a workout and drinks hangout. We are going to Body by Simone, then off to a local coffee shop for drinks to catch up. I haven’t been to BBS for probably 3 years now. I am both nervous and excited. Other than my fashion excursion and sweat session, I will reading my new book, frolicking around the city, and enjoying the weekend.

Have a wonderful weekend xo
