“Choose your peace in all situations”
-Idil Ahmed
Happy Friday! It has been an emotional rollercoaster of a week. It started off with the highest of highs to, well, I could really use a hug right now. I am not ready to get into how I am at the moment, but my grandmother is not feeling her best. And that is all I am going to say about that.
My week did start off with a huge high with the Bengals winning and heading to the Super Bowl!! I have to admit I am a bandwagon fan. To be honest I do not care about NFL football (only OSU football I care about). If I had to choose a team it would probably be the Bears because my dad grew up in Chicago and likes them. Also I am a huge fan of the Super Bowl Shuffle. My sister and I probably watched it thousand of times as kids– we have it on VHS. Anyway, growing up in Ohio everyone on the playground would argue who was better; the Browns or the Bengals and I never cared. However, I root for any Ohio team, therefore right now I will say Who Dey!
Another reason why I am currently a Bengals fan is because I really like Joe Burrow. I think he seems like a great guy. What started my love for Joe was when he won the Heisman and his speech about growing up in Athens moved people to create a GoFundMe page to raise money. I went to Ohio University for college which is in Athens, Ohio. It is a low-income city where the college is an economical saving grace. Athens is a charming city. I used to run off campus into the local neighborhoods and it was peaceful and beautiful. I think it’s wonderful that a kid from Athens is going to the Super Bowl. I also just realized that while I was frolicking around campus, Joe was one of the elementary school kids riding their bikes around….. and now I feel old.
Did you enjoy 2/2/22? I think it’s pretty cool to live through something such as this. A secret, or maybe not so secretive, side of me is really into all of that woo-woo stuff; astrology, manifestation, tarot cards, angel numbers, etc. Whether or not it is actually true, it’s still fun to do. And I believe in it. I know a big argument is you can’t believe in God and manifestations, but I say you are wrong. There is a lot of proof of manifestation in the bible. I believe that God has a designation for us and that’s what he puts into our hearts and our dreams. We then let him know we are ready for XYZ by manifestation. We co-create our journey but he has already designed the destination. This is my opinion and belief. Anyway, 222 is an angel number; it symbolizes faith, harmony, balance, and new beginnings. It’s a sign that good things are to come and that you are in alignment with your path. It was a great day to manifest. I had 3 of my manifestations come true since then. So yes, manifestation really does work. If you didn’t get a chance to take advantage of the day, 2/22/22 is approaching and I hear it is much more powerful.
What I am watching: I have gone to the dark side and am now watching Euphoria. It’s taken me 2 tries to get into it. The first attempt was when it premiered back in 2019. There was a storyline that I thought was just so awful with one of the main characters Kat, so I stopped watching. Now that season 2 is here, everyone is talking about how good it is. I decided to gave it another shot and I do say it is pretty good. Still completely messed up and a lot of the storylines are hard to get through. I call it my GOT of teenage drama. I do not like to watch violence, yet I accept it in Game of Thrones. With Euphoria, I will still watch even though I do not like consistent vulgarity.
Last weekend I watched the 2-part documentary of Janet Jackson. I am and have always been a big fan of Janet. My sister and I used to listen to Janet all the time growing up. A few years ago we finally saw her in concert and it was one of the best concerts I have ever been to. She still has IT! The documentary was really good! I loved that it was in her own words, speaking on things from her point of view. She talks about her family, the Jackson 5, Michael. Talks about her acting and music career and as well as her personal life. It’s worth watching!
What I bought: Do I need another nap dress? No. Do I want another nap dress? Yes! I bought another nap dress during Hill House Victorian Romance drop. I was deciding between the moody floral and pond floral print in either the Ellie or Ophelia style. I ended up going with the Ellie dress in moody floral. I love the pond floral but I already have the pastel trellis from last summer, which feels close in print. There is nothing in my wardrobe that resembles the green moody floral print. I went with the Ellie dress instead of the Ophelia because I know I will wear the Ellie dress more.
Earlier this week I bought a new book, The Last Dance of the Debutante by Julia Kelly. So far I am enjoying the book! I am also currently shopping for my trip to Marco Island next month; here are a few items I am coveting.
This weekend will be uneventful. I actually have a lot of work to do, so will be spending most of my time working. I have a few new projects lined up that I will start creating content for and also some logistical stuff that needs to be done. I am also not really in the headspace to socialize right now. Besides working I will try and get some fresh air; maybe a quick walk somewhere. I will be enjoying my book, working out with Obé Fitness, and binge watching shows and movies. The Winter Olympics started and although I am not thrilled it is in China, I do believe watching supports the USA athletes. I at least want to watch figure skating. Oh and the Jamaican bobsled team!!
Have a wonderful weekend xo
