“After all, soulmates always end up together”

-Cecelia Ahern

Happy Friday and happy Valentine’s Day! I hope you find some way to celebrate those you love the most this weekend and to celebrate the love you have for yourself. Valentine’s Day, to me, is more than just having a significant other. It’s about all types of love. This year, my Valentine’s are my 2 little nieces. I sent them both cards and hope to see their smiling faces via FaceTime on Monday.

I am in better spirits and headspace than I was at the end of last week. My grandmother is feeling better, thank God. I FaceTimed her over the weekend; we laughed, complimented each other (we are brown-nosers to each other) and had a lovely chat. I adore my grandmother and feel grateful I was able to check in on her.

The rest of my week was all about work. I had a lot to do over the weekend, so spent all day Saturday and Sunday working on content. I was able to escape Sunday afternoon for a stroll around the West Village for some fresh air. Plus I wanted to see how WV was decorated for Valentine’s Day. There were not as many decorated stores and stoops as I thought there would be. Only a few red and pink heart displays.

Other than Valentine’s Day decor and working, I finally went to the salon to get my roots touched up. My hair was in desperate need of a refresh. Tuesday morning I went to my beloved DanceBody. It was one of those days when my body lost steam early and I was struggling to make it through. I stepped out of class quickly to get apple juice from the front desk to get my sugar level back up. This is the second time during DanceBody where I felt faint and weak (an abnormal amount) and needed sugar. Once I take a sip of the apple juice I am fine or at least do not feel faint. Again, this has only happened twice within a span of 5 months and have never had this issue prior. Both happened right before my cycle, so I think my blood levels are lower during that time period– something I need to remember from now on. Even last week when I was at DanceBody I was completely fine besides the normal fatigue of working out. If it happens again I will mentioned it to my doctor, but I think it’s mostly that my body was just off those two days. Other than feeling faint I had fun, ha! I love going to DanceBody. I look forward to it every week. I know how the dances down and am enjoying doing them.

What I am watching: Everyday I have been watching the Olympics. I am not a big fan of winter sports as much as I am for the Summer Olympics. My favorite sport to watch during the Winter Olympics is, of course, figure skating. It’s so beautiful to watch and impressive how they can leap, turn, and jump on ice. I love watching Nathan Chen and Kamila Valieva. Such a shame what is happening to her right now. I put no blame on her and all on the adults who are suppose to be taking care of her. It’s heartbreaking that they did this to her. The selfish part of me wants her to compete because she is such a beautiful skater and I want to watch her. However, rules are rules and she (her team) broke them. Other than figure skating I have really enjoyed the halfpipe in snowboarding– especially Shaun White and Chloe Kim. It’s wild how they can get so high up in the air and flip. It’s such a bummer that Shaun White fell on his last run. I was hoping, even if he doesn’t place, that he would has one last great run. He shouldn’t feel down by any means. For him to place 4th when he isn’t at his best and at 35 years old speaks volumes to his talent. He has accomplished so much, he should feel proud. The only other sport I am looking forward to watching is the Jamaican bobsled team.

Between the Olympics games I have been re-watching Full House. When Bob Saget passed I decided to rewatch the beloved series. I grew up watching it on TGIF. Even after the series ended my sister and I would watch it on Saturday mornings or after school on TBS. We love(d) the show. After many years of not watching it, it’s been a great trip down memory lane. Full House really is a great show! I am on season 5 and so far remember every episode. It’s been a great blast from the past from not only the show itself, but also the 80s/90s culture of fashion (I want Aunt Becky’s entire wardrobe), hair, music, etc. It’s also strange watching it now when I am much older than the 3 men were when it started. I almost fell out of my seat when I realized Danny is 29, Joey is 28, and Jessie is 24 when the series starts. When Danny turned 30 they make fun of him for being old. Even crazier to realize this means Danny had DJ when he was 19, and was married (she is 10 at the beginning of the series). Never once did I think about this until now. It’s crazy how much has changed since then. Even some of the stuff that they say and the jokes that are made would not be ok to do during current times. Still I love the show and it’s been wonderful to rewatch.

What I bought: Since I am heading to Florida next month I have been shopping around for items to wear on vacation. So far I have only purchased this gingham high rise bikini. It’s on pre-order right now and expected to ship at the end of February. Fingers crossed it makes it in time for my vacation.

This weekend I am heading to Jersey for a short trip to visit my cousins. My uncle happens to be in town, so I am heading over there to spend time with them. I am looking forward to being with family, as well as the chance to get out of the city. I am not sure what we are going to do, and to be honest there isn’t much to do around where they live. But I do not need an activity-filled weekend, spending quality time with them will be enough. I will be back in NYC in time to watch the Super Bowl. Lets go Bengals!! For Valentine’s Day I will be spending the day talking to my loved ones on the phone, perhaps treating myself with a sushi dinner, buy some fresh flowers, and apply a charcoal mask. It will be a self-care day for me! If you want to send me something I only accept chocolates.

Have a wonderful weekend xo
