Happy Friday! It feels like spring is in the air. Sadly this is just a teaser; still I was loving the 60 degree weather we were having here in New York these past few days. I know it will be short lived, but I will take whatever I can get.

Last weekend I escaped the city for a quick trip to Jersey to visit my cousins. My uncle was in town as well. I took the train in Saturday morning and left Sunday. We really didn’t do much except go out to dinner, explore the city, and watch Hallmark movies. We watched the first two of the new The Wedding Veil trilogy; the first stars Lacey Chabert and the second one is with Autumn Reeser. The third one with Alison Sweeney premieres tomorrow night (the 19th), and I am very much looking forward to it. It’s cute trilogy and definitely suggest watching it! Anyway, it was so nice to be around my family, laughing and spending time with them, even for only 24hrs. It was also nice to get out of the city.

I was back in the city in time for the Super Bowl. I am so bummed the Bengals did not win, but still give them so much credit for making it to the Super Bowl!! The half-time show was a lot of fun and very enjoyable to watch. I could have watched at least 15 more minutes of it. Who knew Dr. Dre could play the piano?! Very impressive.

Did you have a lovely Valentine’s Day? I had a mini GF chocolate cake, so mine was pretty good. I FaceTimed my nieces and wished them a happy Valentine’s Day, which made my heart full. I also made this fun V-Day REELS to celebrate. Over all I had a lovely day filled with lots of love.

What I am watching: I am still watching the Olympics. The final of the women’s figure skating was so heartbreaking to watch. I blame the adults who are suppose to be taking care of Kamila. She should not have been skating and it was evident from her performance during the free skating program. The coldness from her one coach was awful to witness and my heart breaks for her. It was also hard to watch Anna Shcherbakova, who won gold, stand there alone. The whole thing was a complete mess and heartbreaking.

Besides the Olympics I am slowly catching up on The Gilded Age on HBO. I finished episode 2 the other day and am excited to watch the rest of the series. I love historical fiction in all forms of entertainment; movies, tv, books. The Gilded Age is right up my alley. I am enjoying the historical references of New York and the catty drama of old money vs. new money. It’s amusing to watch, knowing the the “new money” folks will someday become New York legacies. For instance, the Russells family resembles the Vanderbilts. Nowadays the Vanderbilts are considered an American dynasty.

What I bought: I bought a new book this week, The Christie Affairs. It’s an historical fiction book (told you I love the genre) about Agatha Christie. In 1926 Agatha Christie, before she really became as well-known as she is now, disappeared for 11 days. When she was finally found, she refused to talk about what happened to her. Even to this day there are conspiracy theories on what happened. The book is a fictional story of what the author thinks could have happened to her. I am enjoying it so far!

Other than my new book I did not buy anything new. However, I have my eye on a few items from this spring collection. Also have my eye on these sunglasses, as well as this sports bra and this pair of biker shorts.

This weekend I have nothing planned except to enjoy the 3-day weekend. I honestly had no idea it was President’s Day weekend until today. Luckily this means there will be a lot of great sales happening! Other than shopping I will maybe grab a drink with a friend or meet up for brunch. Most likely frolic around the city, in what hopefully will be nice weather. Overall enjoying the weekend and what may come.

Have a wonderful weekend xo
