Happy Friday! April showers are here, which only means flowers will bloom soon! Personally I do not mind the rain, or storms for that matter. It can be soothing sometimes.

Last weekend I took the train over to Jersey to see the new musical The Wanderer at the Paper Mill Playhouse. The Wanderer is the story of the singer Dion and his rise to fame. For those of you unfamiliar with Dion, he sings the famous songs from the 50’s and 60’s: “Run Around Sue”, “A Teenager in Love”, “The Wanderer”, and more. You may know him more for being in the group Dion and The Belmonts before he went out on his own. Anyway, going into the musical I knew of Dion and his music quite well, but knew nothing of his personal life. I didn’t know of his struggles with addiction, that he was married throughout his career to his childhood sweetheart, and that he was from the Bronx. The musical is amazing and the performers did an incredible job. Joey McIntyre (yes from NKOTB) is in it!! The entire show was lots of fun, had moments of sadness and laughter. If you get the chance, I would suggest going! I know it’s in Jersey but it’s only a 40 minute train ride away from Penn Station.

DanceBody has started their Q2 dances this past week. This means they have introduced new dances for us to learn over the course of 3 months. Right now they are in breakdown mode. This is a great time to try DanceBody since everyone is in the same boat of not knowing the dances. I always suggest new comers to try the Standard class first. Then if you feel like you still need a challenge, head over to Full-Out where the dances are similar but there is added movements to make it harder. You can also try DanceBody online– which has a breakdown of each dance to make learning the routines easier. I utilize this a lot when I can’t seem to pick up a dance or if I really love a dance, I record it so can do it whenever I want.

What I am watching: My cousin suggested a new-to-me show called Upload on Prime. There is currently only two seasons – with season two released this past March. It’s a sci-fi comedy-drama of a hypothetical scenario of what the future looks like for us in 2033. When someone is at the end of their life they either have the choice of dying naturally and going to heaven or they can upload into a virtual reality afterlife. In this afterlife you can choose different locations (kinda like retirement homes) to spend eternity in. You are very much real. You can still video chat with loved ones in the real world. The show is about a guy, Nathan, who prematurely dies at 26. While his heart and lungs start to fail his girlfriend uploads him. She now controls him because she is paying for his upload and for all his perks like clothing, food, entertainment, etc.. Each upload gets an “angel” – like a customer service rep. Nathan and his angel become close and start to discover more about Nathan’s early departure from the real world. The show is hilarious, heartfelt, and an easy binge watch. Highly suggest!

I’ve been watching The Masters as well this week. A little here and there. As mentioned in yesterdays post about golf attire, I’ve grown to appreciate the sport more over the years. I enjoy watching it when there is a big tournament happening. I am kinda hoping Tiger Woods wins, only because it would be quite the miracle. A year after the car crash where the doctors weren’t sure if he would play again, let alone walk again, and here he is playing golf and doing well. This is a tv movie waiting to happen.

What I bought: The only thing new that I bought this week was a book. I started reading In a New York Minute by Kate Spencer. It’s about 2 total strangers who keep bumping into each other around the city. Read more of the synopsis here.

If you are still looking for a dress to wear on Easter check out this and this.

If you are looking for spring attire on a budget, check out this post here and here.

This weekend I have nothing on the agenda but to relax and enjoy the city. I will be going to church on Palm Sunday, which I am looking forward to. I need to get back into the routine of going to church at least once a month like I did pre-pandemic. Other than church I will hopefully be out and about, depending on the weather. I would love to go for a run at some point. I am also looking forward to finishing up my book, watchThe Masters, and frolic around the city.

Have a wonderful weekend xo
