Happy Friday! Only a few more days until the greatest Monday of the year… our Super Bowl… the Met Gala! I am so excited to see who attends (Taylor Swift is rumored to possibly attend for the first time since 2016). I am excited to see what Blake Lively and Ryan Reynold’s wear, who are co-host of this year’s Met Gala. Overall I am excited to see the modern day interpretation of “Gilded Glamour”. Think Gilded Age; Mrs. Russell, Marian, and Mrs. Astor’s outfits on the stairs of the Met!

I recently received my second box of wine from Drink BOXT. Each month they send you a box of wine of your choice to try. It’s having your favorite wine on tap at your home. Last month I tried the #1 Bright. Crisp. Dry. I did like it but it was a little too dry for me. So this month I ordered the #3 Floral. Fruity. Sweet. I haven’t tried it yet (received it last night) but will do so this weekend. What is so great about Drink BOXT is that for every BOXT they make, they plant a tree through One Tree Planted. Your drinking habits are basically helping the environment. Drink BOXT is a female founded company based in Austin, Texas. Helping the environment and supporting female founded companies! If you would like to try Drink BOXT use code BLUSHANDBLOOMS for $20 off your first month.

What I am watching: I finished season 5 of Selling Sunset last night. I don’t know what it is about this show but it always leaves me wanting more. I could have watched a couple more episodes of this season. I think what I like about the show is that it shows women being successful. There is glamour, success, petty drama, and million dollar houses– what more can you ask for?! I can’t believe Christine did not go to the reunion. I honestly do not know what they talked about without her being there. She was the main storyline of this season. Although Christine isn’t my favorite she is necessary on the show for the drama, and for her over-the-top outfits. I really like Emma, Mary, and Chrishell. It was hard to sit through moments with Chrishell and Jason knowing beforehand that they break up. I am still on the fence about the new girl Chelsea. I think she will bring in a lot of top notch real estate and she is like Christine with the over-the-top fashion. However, I can see her being the new “villain”. Will have to wait until next season to find out!

Last weekend I watched the Abercrombie and Fitch documentary on Netflix White Hot. I highly suggest watching it- especially for us elder Millennials and for Gen-X who were teens/ pre-teens during the height of the Abercrombie era. There is a lot in the documentary I didn’t know happened. For instance, I have never seen the problematic t-shirts before. I also didn’t know anything about the sexual allegations, and how the marketing had homoerotic undertones. Now looking back it all makes total sense. As someone who grew up in Columbus, Abercrombie was THE brand to wear. I also know people who have worked for and currently work at headquarters…. which I can not wait to talk to them about the documentary. I have never been to the A&F campus, but my friends who worked for the company right after graduation basically made it sound like extended college. They were always having large parties that look like a lot of fun for a company party– especially the holiday party. The entire documentary is nostalgic for a time when malls ruled the world and everyone walked around with A&F across their chest.

What I bought: The American Ballet Theatre pretty much took all of my money this past week with the release of their Met Season tickets. It has been since 2019 that I have been to the ballet and got a little too excited about this upcoming season. I bought tickets to Don Quixote, Swan Lake, and Of Love and Rage. I will probably end up going to Romeo and Juliet as well. I am so excited to see the ballet this year! When people ask me what is my “pinch me” moments of living in NYC, this is it. Seeing American Ballet Theatre perform at the Met Opera House. It still gives me “I can’t believe I live here” moments of magic and gratitude.

-A little fun fact: I used to work at ABT when I first moved to the city. I worked in the Educational and Community Outreach department. It is still to this day one of the best jobs I have ever had. Unfortunately they couldn’t keep me because of budget– otherwise I think I would still be working there, but God had other plans for me.

Besides ballet tickets I finally pulled the trigger and bought this floral dress that I have been eyeing. I don’t know why it took me so long to purchase it. I just knew that if I didn’t, this would be a dress I would think about and wish I had bought it. I can’t wait to wear it all summer long.
