Happy Friday! I am traveling to Columbus, Ohio for the week. I haven’t been home in Columbus since Christmas, so I am excited to be there for an entire week! I will be celebrating Memorial Day with my family, attend the Memorial Golf Tournament with my dad, and go to my niece’s first dance recital. It’s going to be a great week with family.

I first want to start by saying how devastated and extremely angry I am about the shooting in Uvalde. Things need to change. There needs to be gun policies in place. Our children deserve to feel safe when they are at school. We deserve to feel safe when going to the grocery store or the movie theater.  If you are feeling helpless, you are not. Remember this when voting. Reach out to your Senator, Governor, Mayor, etc and demand change. Donate to organizations like Everytown that are helping to fight for gun control. Enough is enough!

Last weekend I traveled upstate to Hudson Valley with The Shaka Club. We went to a small town called Beacon to hike the Mount Beacon Trail. It was a fun, sweaty day! I believe it was 92 degrees out… very hot. The hike took about 2 and a half hours. I believe it’s about 1,000 vertical feet. You think with all of the walking and exercise I do that I would be equipped for such a hike… ha! I was definitely sore for the next few days. Well, more exhausted than sore I would say. Anyway, the views of the Hudson River are worth the trek up. It was amazing to be out of the city and in nature.  I have been craving such a thing; the peacefulness of being amongst the ambiance of nature.  After the hike we went to the Hudson Valley Brewery for pizza and drinks. Unfortunately with my gluten intolerance I wasn’t able to try their pizza, but the consensus was that it’s good. Since I wasn’t able to eat dinner, the only meal I had that day was breakfast. Along with a power bar before the hike. Needless to say the next day my body was so weak. I didn’t get home until 10pm. At that point I wanted to be in bed more than eat a meal. I definitely felt that for the next few days. But besides my unfortunate eating sensitivity the entire day was amazing and I am grateful I was able to go. I can check this off my NYC Bucket List.

This past week I was mostly checking things off my to-do list. I had a lot of things to get done before my trip to Columbus. I had a photoshoot with Lauren again in West Village. I love shooting in West Village, there is so many great streets that make the most beautiful backdrop. I shot on my favorite street in New York, Bleecker. With all the cute shops with floral decor, it makes for a great picture. Besides shooting content, I had a few collaborations that I worked on. One was my collab with Enjoy Flowers– see picture here. The bouquet that they sent me last week is stunning! This is a great time to buy flowers for someone you love– graduation, dance recitals, last sports games, birthdays, summer picnics, etc. Take 15% off your first order with code BB15

Last night I went to the NYC premiere for Stranger Things. The event was held at 230 Fifth. We were in the VIP section of the rooftop; mingling, enjoying delicious hors d’oeuvres and drinks. There is a straight view of the Empire State Building where they did a 10 min spectacle for Stranger Things. It was pretty incredible to be there, watching this on the freaking Empire State Building. I shared some of it on my IG Stories. Definitely a pinch me NYC moment! The evening was fun and I got to catch up with friends I haven’t seen since before the pandemic!

What I am watching: I am slowing moving through Conversations with Friends. I have to admit I am not really a fan of the show. Only watching to support Taylor Swift’s boyfriend…. jk. I don’t even know why I am continuing to watch. I wasn’t a fan of the book either. It’s more of a filler show for me. I will write more about why I do not like the book in a review roundup later. One thing I can say, I do not like any of the characters. I am not rooting for anyone.

A show that I do love and can talk about forever is This Is Us. I have to admit that there were moments during the series I had trouble watching because I found it too depressing. Even disliking the Big 3 at times for their self absorb behaviors. However, looking back I find the series to be a beautiful tale of a family. It’s the only show I have seen that accurately documents the meaning of life. The ending was poetically beautiful with all the symbolisms. I am going to miss this show!

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is back and I am loving the season so far. I am so happy to see the dream team -Garcelle, Sutton, and Crystal- stick up for themselves and for each other. It’s lovely to see! I hope they take down Rinna and Erika. I am so over those two! I haven’t made my decision on Diana yet. A part of me likes her; she’s rich, has an interesting background, and isn’t afraid to speak up. However, I don’t know why she out of the blue called Sutton “clumsy”. It felt as if she was saying things just to be part of the argument–and we know from the previews that they get into some sort of argument later on in the season. I will always be on Team Sutton. Still, I am looking forward to getting to know more about Diana.

What I bought: I took advantage of the Beautycounter Memorial Sale (still happening!) to stock up on a few items I am in need of. I bought this cleanser, this eye cream, and this foundation.

As mentioned I will be in Columbus for the week. Besides the golf tournament and dance recital, I will be poolside at the club, dinners at my favorite restaurants, visiting my grandmother, tennis with my dad, and overall spending time with my family. Usually my parents have a cookout on Memorial Day, which is always a fun way to celebrate. It’s going to be a great week here in Columbus!
