Happy Friday and happy Father’s Day! The sun is out and summer is finally here! I am very much looking forward to this summer season. I already have plans to head to the Hamptons next week, a trip back to Ohio for the 4th, my birthday is in the summer, and so much more fun and exciting activities on the horizon!

Last weekend I went to the L.E.A.F Flower Show in Meatpacking. I loved strolling through, looking at the beautiful floral creations. This year they were smart in spreading out the event– as last year it was all in one area and become quite congested. This time the festival spread amongst Gansevoort over to Washington St. I spent some ample time there admiring the creations and shopping each vendor’s bouquet of flowers. It was a lovely Saturday.

Another exciting thing I did this past week was an afternoon spent at the ballet. After 3 years the American Ballet Theatre is back at the Metropolitan Opera House for their spring Met season!! I am so happy I get to relish in classical ballets once again. To kick off the season their first set of performances are Don Quixote. I decided to go to the matinee on Wednesday because my two favorite principal dancers were performing- Isabella Boylston and Daniil Simkin. And my goodness they did NOT disappoint! They were phenomenal!! I haven’t seen Don Quixote in quite some time and forgot how humorous it is– very slapstick comedy. I bet you didn’t think a ballet could be funny?! Quite a few of them have lots of humor in it. Anyway, the entire day was wonderful and I was overfilled with happiness to be back at the Opera House watching my favorite ballet company perform.

I hurt my neck/shoulder last week, well, more like the injury flared up. This past October while I was heading to Jersey for the Ohio State football game I did something to my neck/shoulder area. When I bought my ticket at Penn Station I realized the train was leaving in 5 minutes. I ran to the train with a huge weekender bag propped up on my shoulder and somehow (I believe) tore a muscle. I have been to the Chiropractor and acupuncture numerous times since then. Now when it flares up, as it is currently doing, I take time off working out to nurse it. I still went to my DanceBody full-out class, but made sure not to do burpees and modified the floor work. I went to the strength and stability class today, and even though my neck/shoulder is feeling better I still didn’t use the band for arm exercises. I also went slow during certain movements. Last Sunday I went to WTHN for an acupuncture appointment. It has felt better since, but still need to be careful. I basically sit at home and ice my shoulder all day long. Not fun.

What I am watching: I started We Crashed earlier this week starring Anna Hathaway and Jared Leto. I am only on episode 3 I believe. It’s about Adam and Rebekah Neumann who started WeWork. The famous communal working space company. I knew of the two of them, and obviously of WeWork, but really did not know their origin story.  However, I did know, prior to watching, that Adam and Rebekah are no longer affiliated with the company, I just do not know how and why. I always thought WeWork was a great idea- especially for startups and freelancers. When I did my short bit in Real Estate a few years ago our office was in one of the WeWorks here in the city. I always enjoyed going there whenever I needed to. The show is interesting– I can’t stand Adam. He sounds like a used car salesman and a conman. I appreciate his ambition and strive to succeed; redirecting failure to motivate him. It is an admirable quality. I at least give him credit to that. Anyway, I think overall the show is worth watching.

I binged watched all of Stranger Things last week and was completely blown away by the ending! Loved this season and am so excited there are a few more episodes coming out early July.

What I bought: I finally bought a dress from Maxwell and Geraldine. I have been eyeing their classic summer dresses since last year. I bought this striped smock dress in blue and can’t wait to wear it during the 4th of July. The dress also comes in green, red, and white.

I finally bought these clear framed sunglasses that I have been eyeing forever. I’ve been getting tired of my current sunglasses and wanted to switch things up.

I am not happy with the retinol cream that I purchased a month ago. I haven’t seen any changes and I do not like the texture of it. I did purchased a new eye cream that seems to have good reviews. Fingers cross it gets rid of the dark circles under my eyes that seem to not go away.

This weekend I have nothing planned. I want to lay out at the park as it’s suppose to be nice out. I want to be under the sun, with a book, and enjoy being outside. I unfortunately will not be spending Father’s Day with my dad, but did send him a card and new handkerchiefs. I will have to eat a brownie and watch a John Wayne movie in his honor.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend xo
