“If I want it, I attract it”

-Abraham Hicks

Happy Friday! After a long stay in Columbus I am finally back in NYC! I had a wonderful time at home with my family and friends, visiting my grandmother, and relaxing. It was nice to get away, but am happy to be back here in the city.

One thing I love about being home is going to the pool. It’s one thing I miss here in the city. Of course we have pools here, but it comes with either an expensive membership or an overcrowded public pool. When home in the summer I try to go to the pool as much as possible. I love to swim and be in the water. Another thing I love doing when I am home is riding bikes with my dad. It’s nice to spend alone time with him and we both enjoy the exercise. We ride around and judge people’s houses, ha! Usually we play tennis but I have been having neck and shoulder issues so we didn’t get to play this time around. At least we were able to watch Wimbledon, so the week wasn’t completely free of tennis. Happy Djokovic won!

My cousin and I drove back to the city (Jersey for her) this past Tuesday. It was a long drive but we passed the time listening to shows on Radio Andy. I am not the biggest fan of road trips, I much prefer to fly. I find it to be faster and less tiring. By the end of the day my entire body was aching from sitting for so long. Since being back I have been catching up on work and all of the many sales happening at the moment.

What I am watching: Currently I am trying to catch up on all of my shows that I missed last week. I still have not watch the ending of Stranger Things and will do so this weekend. I have successfully avoided any and all spoilers– surprisingly! Last weekend my parents and I watched the new movie Jerry and Marge Go Large. It’s a true story of an older couple, enjoying their golden years, who figure out a flaw in the lottery. This flaw caused them to win lots of money. They got their entire small town involved.  I loved that this community banned together to help each other. It’s a cute movie and highly suggest watching it!

What I bought: I went on a little shopping spree this week as there were/are many sales going on. On Amazon I bought the entire The Summer I Turned Pretty Trilogy. I watched the mini series on Prime a few weeks ago and loved it. Since then I have been trying to find the books at different stores but everything was sold out. I have already plunged into the first book and am enjoying it. Looking forward to seeing how the rest of the story goes! I also bought this night cream that is only $11. I was gifted the product a few months ago and loved it. I can’t find it anywhere else besides Amazon.

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is now open to the public! I am trying to only shop for things that I need rather than want. I bought my favorite underwear. It’s the only pair I can wear and it’s so comfortable. I finally, after all these years of eyeing the product, bought this mini facial toning device. I tried it years ago and could instantly see the results. I can’t wait to lounge on my couch in the evenings and tone my face for 5 minutes. And yes, this is a need haha.

Something else that I have been shopping for this week are school supplies for teachers via Clear The List. Get Your Teach On has partnered with Amazon where teachers across the US can submit a list of things they need for the upcoming school year. I have purchased items for a few elementary schools in Ohio. Teachers do so much and it’s a shame that they are not provided the materials they need to teach our children. Even if the teacher and the community can afford to have such materials, it adds up and the teachers usually pay out of pocket. Clear The List helps lighten the load and provides kids the necessary items they need. You can complete someones entire list or just purchase a book for $5– any little thing helps. Amazon will ship the items directly to the teacher, so you do not have to worry about that detail. This is a great cause and one that I am more than happy to help.

This weekend I want to be out and about around the city. I know everyone usually leaves the city on the weekends, but I still find New York to be lovely during the summertime. There is so much to do and you never know what is happening around the corner. I will be going on my usually weekend runs, relaxing with my book(s), watching the end of Stranger Things, and enjoying life.

Have a wonderful weekend xo
