Happy Friday and happy Labor Day Weekend! Labor Day always sneaks up on me. August goes by in the blink of an eye and before you know it summer ends. I welcome the cool air, but will miss the lazy days of summer.
This is one of my favorite weeks here in NYC, the US Open! Monday I took the day off for opening day where I watched both men’s and women’s first round singles. I saw Medvedev vs. Kozlov, then Gauff vs. Jeanjean. Both matches were exciting to see and I love being in the Arthur Ashe Stadium. When at the US Open, I treated myself to a glass of honey deuce. The official drink of the Open. It’s basically spiked lemonade. The entire day was wonderful and I enjoyed an afternoon of tennis.
Besides the Open, my week was mostly work, work, work. I had a photoshoot with my photographer Lauren. We went down to SOHO to shoot 3 looks. I haven’t shot in SOHO for a while. It has a great NYC feel to it with unique and colorful buildings. Also this past week I had another appointment at the dermatologist. I am trying to lighten the melasma on my cheeks from years of being out in the sun without SPF and using tanning beds. My dermatologist has prescribed a lightening cream that seems to be working. I may need to do laser at some point for the spots that are deeper. Stay out of the sun and wear SPF my friends!
I have FINALLY set up my Amazon page!! I was invited to create a storefront back in December and there has been so many issues and technical problems that it’s taken 10 months to finally create my storefront. It has honestly been the biggest frustration of this year. The first issue was that my page wouldn’t activate. Amazon couldn’t figure out a way to activate it, so I had to delete it all and reapply. Then it wouldn’t let me create a page because I use my phone number for my regular Amazon account instead of my Influencer account and that took months of back and forth with their team. Then finally by some weird miracle that can only be God sent, I woke up one day and it worked… seamlessly. After 10 months of issues it just decided to work. No one fixed anything, I didn’t do anything differently. It just happened. Now you can shop all of my Amazon must-have list on my page!
I am not one to brag but I was my local Starbuck’s customer of the week!! I am like a huge deal now… just waiting for Hollywood to call me. Since I was the chosen one, I got free drinks all week. Best week of my life!
What I am watching: As mentioned I have been watching the US Open. Mostly watching Serena, Murray, and Nadal. I am rooting for Serena to win since this is her last hurrah! For men’s I think it is going to come down to Nadal vs. Medvedev in the end and I hope Nadal wins. Of course anything can happen and its anyone’s game (match).
Besides tennis I started House of the Dragon last week. I have only seen the first episode, so a little behind. I have to admit, even though I was a Game of Thrones fan I am on the fence with HOTD. I may just need to get my head back into violence mode like I did during GOT. Accepting someone being headed only on that show and no where else. The violence in HOTD was too much during that first episode that I wasn’t a fan. I think I will end up liking it– it did take me 2 tries to get into GOT so we will see.
What I bought: On my dermatologist instructions, I bought this recovery night serum that is suppose to help support the lightening cream I am using. I’ve only used it once, so can not report whether or not it works or if I like it. It says to use 4 drops, but I felt that was way too much serum for my face. It made me feel a little greasy. I am going to try using just one drop and see how I like it.
On The Blog:
This weekend I have nothing planned but to relax and enjoy the end of summer. I will probably grab drinks or brunch with friends, go on a run, perhaps lay out in the park or go to a museum. I am going to my usual DanceBody class on Sunday, which I am looking forward to! Overall enjoying the long weekend!
