Happy Friday! It’s been a busy, wonderful week! From broadway shows to seeing old friends to attending events…. not too shabby of a week. And the best part? the rain finally stopped and now the sun is out and the weather is nice.

Last weekend was so gloomy, I barely left the apartment. Recuperating from my trip to Essex and knowing this week was filled, I decided to have a relaxing weekend. And I am glad I took the time for myself because by Monday things took off. Monday night I went to The Whitby Hotel on w56th street for the essie event with Thorn Alexander. It was an evening of grandmillennial fun to celebrate essie’s new cause “Hands All In”; awareness of the rise of loneliness amongst Millennials and Gen Z. During the event we sipped martini’s while needlepointing and mingling. I love that needlepoint is popular again! My mother was really into it when I was little. I used to do it as well but haven’t in many many years. Happy to see that this simple, joyous activity is back. We were able to take home a canvas to do on our own. I decided on the one that says “Let’s Get Together Yeah Yeah Yeah” — from the original Parent Trap. Besides needlepoint, we played a trivia game about decor and needlepoint history. The entire evening was so lovely and lots of fun. I was able to see a few friends I haven’t seen since in a while, and I made some new friends as well!

Tuesday may have been one of the best nights I have had in a long time. I went to see Funny Girl on broadway with Lea Michele and it was incredible…. jaw-droppingly incredible! One of the best broadway shows I have seen in a while. Lea Michele is so talented, was born to play Fanny Brice. She received 3 standing ovations from the crowd. The crowd was lively! I love it when it’s like that; cheering, into the musical, appreciation for the dances and those high notes. But besides Lea Michele the rest of the cast was amazing as well. One of the reasons why I loved it so much was because of the tap dancing. Most of the new-age broadway shows do not include tap. Tap dancing is mostly part of old broadway like 42nd Street, Holiday Inn, Anything Goes… etc. Jared Grimes, who plays Eddie Ryan in Funny Girl, is a phenomenal tap dancer. He really blew us all away! The entire show is hilarious, lots of fun, and full of talent. Definitely go see it!!!

My last event of the week was on Thursday morning celebrating the launch of LAKE Pajamas holiday collection at Bobo. Bobo is a charming restaurant in Greenwich that was the perfect setting for this Savannah-based company. LAKE Pajamas new holiday collection is one to have! They did an amazing job creating a variety of colors and prints for the entire family. You can get decked out in holiday prints or go for more holiday-adjacent color. I opted for classic green pima cotton long-long pajamas; it still has a holiday feel to it, but can be worn past Christmas. They have men’s, women’s and children’s pajamas for the season. I am hoping my sister buy’s my nieces the Nutcracker print pajamas, it is so cute! At the event they gifted us a monogrammed robe that I will be religiously using. Anyway, the event was lovely and I really enjoyed meeting the LAKE team. They made a cute Christmas tree out of LAKE boxes, hung garland around the fireplace, and played holiday music. It was a wonderful morning!

What I am watching: Last weekend I started watching the new series on Netflix The Empress. It’s about the life of Empress Sisi of Austria. It is a German series so there is an American dubbed voiceover, but that doesn’t bother me. If you watched Cable Girls you will be ok. Also, if you are a fan of The Crown and/or Bridgerton you will like this as well. I am only a few episodes in but I am loving the series. I am enjoying the scandals, the fashion, the love between Sisi and Franz, and learning about a history I have no knowledge of. When I saw Sisi’s wedding dress I almost fell off the couch, it is stunningly beautiful!!! If you are a Royal enthusiast like myself, you need to watch this series!

Also over the weekend I watched Hocus Pocus 2 and it did NOT disappoint! I thought it perfectly captured the essence of the original one while making it modern. I loved seeing the girls back together with more hilarious moments, great songs, and an even thicker bond between the sisters. It’s a cute movie overall.

What I bought: I have been wanting velvet Mary Jane shoes since last fall and finally bought a pair. I wore them for the first time to the LAKE event and thought they were pretty comfortable– no blisters! I am excited to wear them throughout the fall and perhaps through winter and spring.

This weekend I have nothing planned but to enjoy the sunshine. I am going to DanceBody to learn the new Q4 dances. I have seen some of the dances on IG and they look like a lot of fun! Also this weekend I will go on a run, perhaps meet up with friends, finish my book, watch the Ohio State game, and of course, start my needlepoint project.

Have a wonderful weekend xo
