Happy Friday!! And happy Taylor Swift Mightnights album release day!!! I tried to stay up past midnight but couldn’t make it…and I definitely did not make it to the 3am surprise, lol. I did, however, get up bright and early to put it on repeat. So far my favorite songs are Lavender Haze, Vigilante Shit, Snow On The Beach, Mastermind….. really I love every song!!
The rest of my week was not as exciting as T.Swift’s album release, but it pays the bills. I had a few calls for possible upcoming campaigns, worked on content, etc. I have been chatting with one of The Brimm’s business coaches, Carla, about possibly joining the Revenue Accelerator program. I met Carla at the New England Coastal Creative conference a few weeks ago. Sally Holder, the owner of The Brimm, was a keynote speaker. Anyway, Carla has been so sweet and informative about talking me through the program. She even let me sit in on one of the groups conference calls this past Tuesday. Ultimately I decided the program wasn’t the best fit for me at the moment. But it’s something I want to eventually do someday. I was really upset about making this decision because I wanted to do the program. However, it’s the right decision to put my money into something else like a business manager. The program is tailored for women in business– any kind of business- selling products or offering services. Blogging is a different type of business. For instance, I can’t control the pricing of products that I am selling. I know eventually someday I want to grow my business into something more, which is where The Brimm would be so helpful. I highly, highly suggest checking them out if you are a female small business owner. I learned so much just by chatting with Carla and by doing the 30 days to $30K program that they gifted us at the conference.
I went to my second DanceBody Q4 full-out class this past Tuesday. I did a few breakdown videos at home through their DanceBody Live stream, so was better prepared this time. I almost have the Beyoncé Pure/Honey and the Nicki Minaj Super Freaky Girl dances down. Those are the two I have been practicing at home. The other ones I feel I can pick up just by going to class.
Yesterday I went to the Tractenberg & Co. Holiday Studio event. They’ve been putting on this annual event for years now and it’s always a good time. At the event, which was held at 11 Howard Hotel, they had different beauty and skincare vendors. It’s a great way to view new product collections coming out and to discover new brands that haven’t launched. Tractenberg usually host this event right before the holidays to help us get an idea of what to add to our holiday gift guides. At the event I got my hair done through Color Wow using their volumizer, which made my hair feel thicker. I made a floral bouquet with Sabon. Made a pretty snow globe with Curél that I am going to gift my 5 year old niece for Christmas. And had my handwriting analyzed through Sukin.
The handwriting analysis was an interesting thing to do. I am not going to lie, I do not have the best handwriting. I wish I had prettier penmanship, but God didn’t bless me in that area. When I take notes for myself, only I can decipher the words. But when I take my time to write it is much better. My handwriting is a mixture of cursive with print, so there are a lot of loops and curves. Anyway, the handwriting analyst said that most people’s letters curve right but mine curves left- which is usually an indicator of an introvert. I consider myself a ambivert so not far off. She also said that I am creative, ambitious, and do not like to be told what to do. All of which are true. She also said I take my time with things. She talked about the story of the tortoise and the hare, and that I am the tortoise. That I take my time in making decisions, and because of that I always end up on top. Which is true. I am not indecisive at all, in fact I know what I want pretty quickly. I just take my time obtaining it. She talked more about somethings that are a little personal. Overall she was spot on, which is crazy to think she got all of it from my handwriting.
What I am watching: I tried to watch the Jeffery Dahmer Story on Netflix but I couldn’t get through it. I only watched an episode and a half. I had to turn it off, it was too uncomfortable and disgusting. I know what happens and what he did so do not feel the need to continue on. It’s just not for me.
To cleanse myself of the horror that I watched I randomly decided to check out Boo, Bitch on Netflix. I never had any interest in it as I thought it looked silly. However, because of that I thought it was the perfect cleanser. It is silly but I also enjoyed it. I was hooked on whether or not she was really dead. I had a theory and I was half right. Although it is a silly mini series I loved the meaning behind the show: that friendships are more important than being popular or having followers on IG and t o fully live your life. It’s an easy watch. I suggest saving it for a rainy day.
Last weekend I watched Luckiest Girl Alive starring Mila Kunis. I did not read the book prior to seeing the Netflix movie, and I do hear there are a lot of differences. I thought the movie was great. From what I have seen on twitter it accurately represents those that have gone through similar situations of sexual assault. It is NOT a love story…. I thought it was going into it, ha! It is so well done and so completely heartbreaking. Some scenes are very hard to get through, but I think it’s important to fully see how these situations play out. I hope men watch this movie and understand their actions… and lack of actions.
What I bought: This popular jacket came back in stock and I snatched it in white before it was sold out again. It says it runs big, but the xs was sold out so I just bought a small. I am sure it will be ok. I may even prefer it to be a little chunkier. We will see! It comes in other colors besides white.

This weekend I am heading to Jersey to visit my cousins. Two of my cousins work for Rutgers University. My other cousin, who lives in Ohio, is visiting for the weekend so we decided to make it a cousins weekend! Unfortunately my sister is unable to join us– she will be missed! The boys (sorry men…) wanted to go to the Rutgers football game so we will be doing that Saturday afternoon. Other than the football game we will just be hanging out eating pizza, catching up, etc. I am excited for a weekend away from the city and to be with family. It’s kinda the last hurrah before my cousin gets married in December.
