Happy Friday! What a week… TGIF! This past week, especially the last 24 hours, has had chaotic energy. From the meltdown over the possible ending of Twitter to the Ticketmaster debacle, I think we could all use a glass of wine…. or two. Honestly though, I didn’t get Taylor Swift tickets and I am pretty bummed about it. I was on the waiting list to get a code for presale and never got one. It’s just awful that Taylor fans, like myself, didn’t even get a chance to try and get tickets. But I am going to be optimistic and hope she adds more concert dates!

Early this week I went downtown to stop by the Burt’s Bees holiday truck. They recently launched a new collaboration with Cleo Wade for the holidays. The truck had a variety of hot chocolate and pastries, as well as the new lotions and chapsticks. The Inspired Lip Balm set has a barcode so you can receive daily affirmations from Cleo Wade via text. I thought that was a lovely idea! The collection would make a great stocking stuffer gift. I always get chapstick in my stocking and love it, ha!

Wednesday afternoon I gave myself a little treat by escaping work to go see The Music Man on broadway!! I have been dying to see the show since it was announced and am so grateful I was able to go! I got my ticket through TodayTik for a very discounted price. I should have paid $300+, instead paid $97– and I sat in Orchestra with a great view of the stage. The only drawback from purchasing through TodayTik was that I didn’t get to choose where I sat (luckily it turned out better than I thought) and I had to switch times. I originally wanted to go to the evening performance but TodayTik wasn’t able to secure tickets. They could, however, get tickets to the matinee. I knew the days to see The Music Man were short (the show is ending on January 15th), so I said yes and took a mini day off.

The show was phenomenal! I grew up watching The Music Man but have never seen it on broadway. Hugh Jackman is so talented and did an incredible job as Professor Hill. I was gutted to see that Sutton Foster was not performing. As much as I like Hugh Jackman, the broadway geek in me wanted to see Sutton Foster perform. But I am glad to at least see Hugh Jackson since he is the main character. And Lauren Blackman, who is the understudy for Marian Paroo, did a fabulous job! I loved that the broadway show was exactly like the movie. I believe there is only one scene that was cut out, but in all honesty that scene isn’t important— the soda shop scene. The ensemble was incredible as well– can’t say enough good things about their dancing and singing! When they started out singing “Rock Island” on the train, I was like lets gooooo!! I was so happy.. and still am so happy that I got to see The Music Man on broadway!!

What I am watching: I’ve been watching season 5 of The Crown. I am enjoying this season. I believe I have two episodes left. I do have a few thoughts on the season: first being I can’t look at Queen Elizabeth without thinking she is about to take over Hogwarts. I am having trouble separating Imelda Staunton from her character in Harry Potter. So I am now convinced Queen Elizabeth hates muggles. My other thought was I wish they gave Princess Diana more of a story besides complaining about the Royal family. I get they are only highlighting important events in history, and she was craving for a connection and a friendship. However, they make it out to be as if all she does is complain about Charles and the System. I want to see her being more of a mother, her philanthropy, her interactions with people. Maybe that does come in the two episodes I have left– since she is now divorced and that is when she really starts getting into charity work. And my last thought: Princess Margaret continues to be my favorite Royal.

Last weekend I watched Lindsay Lohan’s new Christmas movie Falling For Christmas on Netflix. I loved it! It’s the perfect combination of cheesy and feel good. It’s also wonderful to see her acting again! I am enjoying Lindsay’s renaissance.

What I bought: I guess I was in a handbag mood this past week because I bought two new purses. The first being this feathered one in pink (currently on sale!). For the past few years I have been wanting a feather handbag and the one that I wanted from Loeffler Randall was sold out and never returned. So when I saw this one from J.Crew I decided to get it! The next handbag I bought was this pearl clutch. Another bag that I have been eyeing for over a year. I’ve been wanting a new evening bag and since my cousin’s wedding is in a month, I figured it was the right time to get one.

This weekend I am going to the The Museum of Broadway. I am excited to walk down memory lane of historical broadway moments. Should be a lovely exhibition! Other than being a broadway geek, I will be watching the Ohio State game, reading my new book, and enjoying the fall season here in New York.

Have a wonderful weekend xo
