Happy Friday and Merry Christmas! I hope those of you who were traveling this holiday season made it safely to your destination and are able to spend the holiday with your family. We got about 2 inches of snow here in Columbus and lots of wind. Our internet and cable went out for most of the day, but now it’s back! It’s a Christmas miracle!
Last weekend I went to Athens, Tennessee for my cousin Adam’s wedding. We arrived in Tennessee on Thursday afternoon before all of the festivities began. That night we celebrated my uncle’s best friend’s birthday with just family at the hotel dinning area. Friday morning my mom, along with my aunt’s, threw my cousin’s then fiancé (now wife) a bridal lunch. It’s a tradition in my family for the aunt’s to throw the bride a brunch on the weekend of her wedding. It’s not a bridal shower, just a way to do something extra special for the bride. It was a lovely time!
That evening was the rehearsal dinner and boy did we have fun! It was held at the country club in town with an open bar, lots of food, and great company. My sister, my cousin, and I had a little too much fun together. The day of the wedding I went with a few of my family members to this holiday train ride. It was not what we were expecting. We thought there would be decorations outside throughout the route to look at, but it was basically an hour ride of Santa and his elves singing Christmas songs. It wasn’t bad.. but nothing I would suggest. I don’t know how they kept the kids entertained for so long.
The wedding was absolutely beautiful! I only shed a few tears….. The ceremony and reception was both held at this beautiful barn in Athens. I loved the mixture of Christmas and wedding decor. It really felt magical! They had catalog cards for seating arrangements, a Photo Booth, and a picturesque dessert table. My sister and I never left the dance floor…. not once until we were forced to leave. We had so much fun! The entire weekend was filled with lots of love and laughter. We made new friends, and enjoyed spending time with family. And most importantly my cousin finally found the love he deserves! And for those of you single boys and gals– my cousin and his wife are both 42, neither one ever married before. Your time will come!
Monday I went to What’s The Point? in Dublin, Ohio with my mom. I picked out a new needlepoint canvas, a bookmark, that will be one of my gifts under the tree. I really loved the store and hope to go back soon! Tuesday evening my parents and I went to the new restaurant in town SŌW Plated. Both my dad and I got the chicken, while my mom got a salad. We really enjoyed our meals! The restaurant interior is chic and modern. This is a great spot to go with friends or even date night. The rest of the week was spent with my nieces, and of course, baking Christmas cookies. I was suppose to go to brunch with my friends, but unfortunately our plans fell through. I was pretty bummed about it, because I really miss them. However, I understand it’s hard to get together with everyone’s busy schedule and family gatherings this time of the year.
What I am watching: My parents and I started watching The Santa Clauses series on Disney. We like it but don’t. I think some the characters are annoying– like Noel. I do love the continuation of the beloved story and I like the concept. Overall I think it’s cute.
What I bought: I haven’t bought anything new besides Christmas presents– waiting to see what Santa brings me this year! Oh, I did buy this NYE headband just in case I decide to do something fun and festive.
