“Milk every moment for all the pleasure you can get from it”

-Abraham Hicks

Happy Friday! This past week was all about wellness. From workouts to spa days, it was not too shabby of a week for me. I am all for self-care, whatever that may look for you. This week my self-care looked like movement and recovery.

Yesterday I went to the Bowery House event, hosted by Bowery Farming. It was a day of wellness and self-care. Upon arriving I took one of the pilates classes they were having throughout the day. I haven’t done pilates in a while so it felt good to do the movements. Besides pilates they had a few activations; facials, aromatherapy, physical therapy, nails, and a photo booth. I decided to get the facial first; from Chillhouse who was partnering with Bowery Farming. I haven’t had a facial since before the pandemic and desperately needed one. I have also been wanting to go to Chillhouse since they opened in Flatiron in 2018. The facial was amazing, perhaps one of the best I have ever had. They used their Chill Globes… my goodness it felt good on my skin. I may need to get them! Next I went to the aromatherapy section hosted by Spa Chicks On The Go where I was able to mix different essential oils together. I mixed lavender and peppermint. I put a little on my wrists before bed last night. Peppermint helps reduce stress, muscle aches, headaches etc. Lavender helps with relaxation, anxiety, depression, insomnia, and more.

Last but not least was the physical therapy section with Fit Club. I have to say my body does feel better today! I have been wanting to book an appointment with chiropractor for an adjustment, but I don’t think I need to right now. He started off adjusting my hips and back. Then went on to stretching my neck, back and hamstrings. It felt amazing! I left right after the physical therapy session because I had work to do. I missed out on getting my nails done and the sound bath. I actually wanted to do the sound bath but I just couldn’t swing it into my schedule for the day since it was later on in the afternoon. Sounds baths are healing, but sometimes they do give me a headache. I unfortunately didn’t have any of the food provided by Bowery since I skipped the breakfast and left during lunch but they did send me home with a salad- which was delicious. Along with a bottle of Everybody Water.

To envelope even more wellness, I’ve been promoting Addison Bay’s warehouse sale— that they extended for today! UP to 80% off activewear, loungewear, and more. I also went to my second class of Q1 for DanceBody. We learned a new dance– Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation. I am already obsessed! First, it’s one of my favorite Janet Jackson’s songs. Second of all the dance is challenging and brings back 90’s vibes with fun movements like the running man. I am still learning all of the dances and am hoping to get at least one or two by next week. I do know the Daddy Yankee HOT dance– it’s just so fun to do!!

Last weekend I finally went to the Book Club Bar in the Lower East Side. It’s a bookstore that also acts as a cafe/bar. When I got there it was pretty packed, so there wasn’t any room to sit except for the outside garden. I really wanted to grab tea and cuddle up on one of the chairs and read. Unfortunately I never got to because of the crowd. Instead I explored what books they had. I want to go back during the week day when it is hopefully less busy. I also think this place would make for a unique date night spot.

What I am watching: I am almost done with season 2 of Ginny and Georgia. I am really loving this season and hoping it gets renewed. I feel this season is a little more intense with storylines. I do not want to give anything away, but there is a powerful moment between Georgia and Ginny that was beautiful. Georgia is crazy but I also love her. I know Paul isn’t right for Georgia, but I still really like him. I don’t know if I want her with Zion instead. I like him and Simone together. We will see! The teens are also fun to watch. I get nostalgic when they all hang out together in the basement. It reminds me of my own high school days just being with my friends and doing nothing. I can’t stand Max this season, to be honest, but wow she did an incredible job during the school play! The actress who plays her, Sara Waisglass, is very talented.

Another Netflix show I have been watching this past week is the new docuseries Break Point. It follows up and coming professional tennis players competing in grand slams. I am really enjoying it! The sport has been dominated by Djokovic, Nadal, Serena, and Federer for so long, it’s nice to see the underdog win once in a while. As an armchair tennis enthusiast I do have a few favorite up and comers, so it’s been nice to get to know them better through this docuseries. Fritz and Berrettini are two players I have been enjoying watching lately. I also love watching the series because my dad is a tennis player, so we like to chat about the series and the current Australian Open. It’s a nice father-daughter bonding for us. Break Point has only released 5 episodes so far and will release the rest in June right before Wimbledon.

What I bought: I didn’t buy anything new this week, but have been looking at this spa headband in pink. I saw a girl on TikTok wearing it while she was doing her makeup –while discussing her break up lol. I think it’s really cute! I also went to go buy this new floral dress but when I went to purchase it, it was sold out!! I am hoping Anna Cate restocks. The dress is just so pretty!!

LTK Spotlight: Hill House Home Valentine’s Day Dresses

This weekend I have nothing planned but do want to do a little closet clean out. My closet and dresser is driving me nuts. I need to do a purge. I will do my usually frolicking around the city, exploring new shops and restaurants. I will hopefully finish my book and get a new one. A quintessential weekend for me.

Have a wonderful weekend xo
