Happy Friday! I hope you had a wonderful Valentine’s Day. Whether you celebrated with someone special, hung out with friends and family, or treated yourself, I hope it was filled with lots of love. I asked my 2yr old niece to be my Valentine and she ran away from the phone yelling “No Maggie”…. she wanted to play on the iPad instead. Not going to pretend like that didn’t hurt, but she did say Happy Valentine’s Day and gave me a kiss over the phone later so it made up for it.

The rest of my Valentine’s Day was all about self-love. I kicked off the day doing my favorite thing…. dancing! I went to DanceBody so I could move and shake and have a good time. It always puts me in the best mood. I know pretty much all of the Q1 (full-out) dances now except the new ballet one they just introduced. I will perfect it at some point. The rest of the day I treated myself to a little at-home spa day using my favorite pumpkin honey face mask. Then I read for a long time, did my nails, ordered my favorite GF chocolate brookie (cookie and brownie combined) dessert from Beatnic, and watched a Hallmark movie. Over all it was a great day!

Last weekend I went to the Alice + Olivia’s NYFW presentation. This was my first A+O fashion week experience and it did not disappoint. It was one big open space where you could just roam around looking at the different models/ new fall collection. Each collection had it’s own background theme to it; some models were in picture frames, others were standing near golf carts, canned soup, vinyl records, and my personal favorite– candy! However the most exciting part was right in the middle was a skating ramp. There were 3, what I assume were, professional female skateboarders. It was fun to watch them while sipping on a cocktail and looking at pretty clothes. But if that wasn’t enough, she has 3 dancers come out and perform for a few songs. That was lots of fun as well! I had a great time and hope to attend more of Alice + Olivia’s NYFW presentations/runways in the future.

Also last weekend I went to Home Depot to start my mirror project. I want to repaint my mirror and stencil a design (most likely florals) onto it. I went to Home Depot to pick out a primer but instead ended up going home with a painting kit (brush, roller, and tray) and blue tape. One thing I do not like about living in New York is that I have to do things in increments. I can’t just go to Home Depot and load everything into my car, I have to carry it all home by myself. And well, I can’t do that. So I have to take multiple trips to Home Depot now. Anyway, I thought going to Home Depot I was prepared to pick out a primer but when I got there I felt overwhelmed with the different types– how many bases do I need, what color, what size, what brand. So I just picked up the painting kit and went home. I later called my dad so he could explain to me what I needed– he was at a basketball game earlier so I could’t call him while at the store. And yes, I know I could have asked for help from an employee but I didn’t know exactly what I was asking for. Now that I know I will be going back for trip #2…. with my dad on speed dial.

The weather this past week was so lovely. I know it’s concerning that it’s 60 degrees in February, but I am much more of a summer gal so I will take it. I went for a long walk on the West Side River Parkway this past Wednesday. It felt so good to be outside! I am ready for spring and summer!

What I am watching: I have watched all of part 1 of season 4 of You. I have to say, I think this is the best season. I know that is controversial to say. The first 2 seasons were good. I did not like season 3– I thought it was so ridiculous. This season, however, I am enjoying the change of scenery and a change of plot. I do not want to give anything away, but it’s much more of a Clue’s game this time around which I found to be intriguing. I also guessed correctly at who done it.

Netflix also has a new docu-series called Full Swing that I started. It’s just like Break Point where they follow professional tennis players, except this time it’s professional golfers. I have only watched the first 2 episodes but they consist of my favorite 2 young players– Jordan Spieth and Scottie Scheffler. I only watch golf during The Masters, and when I am at home in Ohio and able to go to the Memorial tournament. Anyway, I am enjoying getting to see a more personal side of the players, being introduced to new golfers, and also learning more about the PGA tournament.

What I bought: I am excited, and patiently waiting, for these light beige high-rise jeans from H&M to arrive! Only $30– currently 15% off for members! I think they would be a great pair to wear this spring season. Hopefully they fit! I ordered a size 2 – my normal- but it does say they run small so I may need to go up a size or two. We will see! I also ordered this cute spa headband in pink from Amazon for only $8. It’s been all over TikTok and find it to be cute! Perfect to wear while doing my makeup, skincare, etc.

This weekend I have nothing planned. I forgot it was a 3-day weekend until I asked a friend of mine if she wanted to get together for brunch (we rescheduled for another weekend). Instead I will be going back to Home Depot, perhaps find an exhibit to attend, read my book, frolic around, and enjoy the city as always.

Have a wonderful weekend xo
